"[It is I] who saysto the depthof the sea,'Be driedup!' And I will makeyour riversdry.
But GodrememberedNoahand allthe beastsand allthe cattlethat were with him in the ark;and Godcaused a windto passoverthe earth,and the watersubsided.
You brokeopenspringsand torrents;You driedup ever-flowingstreams.
Then Mosesstretchedout his handoverthe sea;and the LORDsweptthe sea[back] by a strongeastwindallnightand turnedthe seainto dryland,so the waterswere divided.
"I will laywastethe mountainsand hillsAnd witheralltheir vegetation;I will makethe riversinto coastlandsAnd dryup the ponds.
Thussaysthe LORD,Who makesa waythrough the seaAnd a paththrough the mightywaters,
"Whywas therenomanwhen I came?When I called,[why] was therenoneto answer?Is My handsoshortthat it cannotransom?OrhaveI nopowerto deliver?Behold,I dryup the seawith My rebuke,I makethe riversa wilderness;Their fishstinkfor lackof waterAnd dieof thirst.
"For I am the LORDyour God,who stirsup the seaand its wavesroar(the LORDof hostsis His name).
Who caused His gloriousarmto goat the righthandof Moses,Who dividedthe watersbeforethem to makefor Himself an everlastingname,
"A droughton her waters,and they will be driedup! For it is a landof idols,And they are madover fearsomeidols.
The fordsalso have been seized,And they have burnedthe marsheswith fire,And the menof warare terrified.
Thereforethussaysthe LORD,"Behold,I am going to pleadyour caseAnd exactfullvengeancefor you; And I will dryup her seaAnd makeher fountaindry.
"And they will passthrough the sea[of] distressAnd He will strikethe wavesin the sea,So that allthe depthsof the Nilewill dryup; And the prideof Assyriawill be broughtdownAnd the scepterof Egyptwill depart.
The sixth[angel] pouredout his bowlon the greatriver,the Euphrates;and its waterwas driedup, sothat the waywould be preparedfor the kingsfrom the east.
