"O Lord,by [these] things [men] live,And in allthese is the lifeof my spirit;O restoreme to healthand let me live!
My soulcleavesto the dust;Reviveme according to Your word.
It is goodfor me that I was afflicted,That I may learnYour statutes.
I know,O LORD,that Your judgmentsare righteous,And that in faithfulnessYou have afflictedme.
O LORD,You have broughtup my soulfrom Sheol; You have keptme alive, that I would not godownto the pit.
"TurnYour gazeawayfrom me, that I may smile[again] BeforeI departand am nomore."
You whohave shownme manytroublesand distressesWill reviveme again,And will bringme up againfrom the depthsof the earth.
You meethim who rejoicesin doingrighteousness,Who remembersYou in Your ways.Behold,You were angry, for we sinned,[We continued] in them a longtime; And shall we be saved?
But He answeredand said,"It is written,MANSHALL NOT LIVEON BREADALONE,BUT ON EVERYWORDTHAT PROCEEDSOUT OF THE MOUTHOF GOD.'"
But when we are judged,we are disciplinedby the Lordsothat we will not be condemnedalongwith the world.
For momentary, lightafflictionis producingfor us an eternalweightof gloryfarbeyondall comparison,
"He humbledyou and let you be hungry, and fedyou with mannawhichyou did not know, nordid your fathersknow, that He might make you understandthat mandoes not liveby breadalone, but manlivesby everythingthat proceedsout of the mouthof the LORD.
Furthermore,we hadearthlyfathersto disciplineus, and we respectedthem; shall we not muchratherbe subjectto the Fatherof spirits, and live?
