Behold,the nameof the LORDcomesfrom a remoteplace;Burningis His angerand denseis [His] smoke;His lipsare filledwith indignationAnd His tongueis like a consumingfire;
Howlong,O LORD?Will You be angryforever?Will Your jealousyburnlikefire?
Woeto Assyria,the rodof My angerAnd the staffin whose handsis My indignation,
They are comingfrom a farcountry,From the farthesthorizons,The LORDand His instrumentsof indignation,To destroythe wholeland.
"The peopleswill be burnedto lime,Like cutthornswhich are burnedin the fire.
Sinnersin Zionare terrified;Tremblinghas seizedthe godless."Whoamong us can livewith the consumingfire?Whoamong us can livewith continualburning?"
Its streamswill be turnedinto pitch,And its looseearthinto brimstone,And its landwill becomeburningpitch.
"Whenyou passthrough the waters,I will be with you; And through the rivers,they will not overflowyou. Whenyou walkthroughthe fire,you will not be scorched,Norwill the flameburnyou.
So they will fearthe nameof the LORDfrom the westAnd His gloryfrom the risingof the sun,For He will comelike a rushingstreamWhich the windof the LORDdrives.
Then you will see[this], and your heartwill be glad,And your boneswill flourishlike the newgrass;And the handof the LORDwill be madeknownto His servants,But He will be indignanttowardHis enemies.
For behold,the LORDwill comein fireAnd His chariotslike the whirlwind,To renderHis angerwith fury,And His rebukewith flamesof fire.
For everybootof the bootedwarriorin the [battle] tumult,And cloakrolledin blood,will be for burning,fuelfor the fire.
"Circumciseyourselves to the LORDAnd removethe foreskinsof your heart,Menof Judahand inhabitantsof Jerusalem,OrelseMy wrathwill goforthlike fireAnd burnwith noneto quenchit, Becauseof the evilof your deeds."
"Thus I have pouredout My indignationon them; I have consumedthem with the fireof My wrath;their wayI have broughtupon their heads,"declaresthe LordGOD.
"A riverof firewas flowingAnd comingout from beforeHim; Thousandsupon thousandswere attendingHim, And myriadsupon myriadswere standingbeforeHim; The courtsat,And the bookswere opened.
"I keptlookingUntilthroneswere setup, And the Ancientof Daystook[His] seat;His vesture[was] like whitesnowAnd the hairof His headlike purewool.His throne[was] ablazewith flames,Its wheels[were] a burningfire.
"Thereforewaitfor Me," declaresthe LORD,"For the daywhen I riseup as a witness.Indeed,My decisionis to gathernations,To assemblekingdoms,To pourout on them My indignation,AllMy burninganger;For allthe earthwill be devouredBy the fireof My zeal.
"For from the risingof the sunevento its setting,My name[will be] greatamong the nations,and in everyplaceincenseis going to be offeredto My name,and a grain offering[that is] pure;for My name[will be] greatamong the nations,"saysthe LORDof hosts.
For a fireis kindledin My anger,And burnsto the lowestpartof Sheol,And consumesthe earthwith its yield,And setson firethe foundationsof the mountains.
He said,"The LORDcamefrom Sinai,And dawnedon them from Seir;He shoneforthfrom MountParan,And He camefrom the midst of tenthousandholyones;At His righthandthere was flashinglightningfor them.
"For the LORDyour Godis a consumingfire,a jealousGod.
Thenthat lawless onewill be revealedwhomthe Lordwill slaywith the breathof His mouthand bring to an endby the appearanceof His coming;
for our Godis a consumingfire.
