For thusthe Lordsaidto me, "In a year,as a hiredmanwould countit, allthe splendorof Kedarwill terminate;
and theseare the namesof the sonsof Ishmael,by their names,in the orderof their birth:Nebaioth,the firstbornof Ishmael,and Kedarand Adbeeland Mibsam
Theseare their genealogies:the firstbornof Ishmael[was] Nebaioth,then Kedar,Adbeel,Mibsam,
"Is not manforcedto laboron earth,And [are not] his dayslike the daysof a hiredman?
Woeis me, for I sojournin Meshech,For I dwellamongthe tentsof Kedar!
"I am blackbut lovely,O daughtersof Jerusalem,Like the tentsof Kedar,Like the curtainsof Solomon.
But nowthe LORDspeaks,saying,"Within threeyears,as a hiredmanwould countthem, the gloryof Moabwill be degradedalong with all[his] greatpopulation,and [his] remnantwill be verysmall[and] impotent."
Let the wildernessand its citiesliftup [their voices], The settlementswhere Kedarinhabits.Let the inhabitantsof Selasingaloud,Let them shoutfor joyfrom the topsof the mountains.
"Allthe flocksof Kedarwill be gatheredtogether to you, The ramsof Nebaiothwill ministerto you; They will goup with acceptanceon My altar,And I shall glorifyMy glorioushouse.
"For crossto the coastlandsof Kittimand see,And sendto Kedarand observecloselyAnd seeifthere has beensuch [a thing] as this!
Concerning Kedarand the kingdomsof Hazor,whichNebuchadnezzarkingof Babylondefeated.Thussaysthe LORD,"Arise,goup to KedarAnd devastatethe menof the east.
"Arabiaand allthe princesof Kedar,they were your customersfor lambs,ramsand goats;for these they were your customers.
