Ephraim,as I have seen,Is plantedin a pleasant meadowlike Tyre;But Ephraimwill bringout his childrenfor slaughter.
ThenMenahemstruckTiphsahand allwhowere in it and its bordersfrom Tirzah,becausethey did not open[to him]; therefore he struck[it] and rippedup allits womenwho were with child.
"Thoughhis sonsare many,they are destined for the sword;And his descendantswill not be satisfiedwith bread.
"I will castyou out of My sight,as I have castout allyour brothers,allthe offspringof Ephraim.
For deathhas comeup through our windows;It has enteredour palacesTo cutoffthe childrenfrom the streets,The youngmenfrom the townsquares.
You calledas in the dayof an appointedfeastMy terrorson everyside;And there was noone whoescapedor survivedIn the dayof the LORD'Sanger.Those whomI boreand reared,My enemyannihilatedthem.
and sayto Tyre,who dwellsat the entranceto the sea,merchantof the peoplesto manycoastlands,'Thussaysthe LordGOD,"O Tyre,you have said,'I am perfectin beauty.'
Therefore a tumultwill ariseamong your people,And allyour fortresseswill be destroyed,As ShalmandestroyedBeth-arbelon the dayof battle,[When] motherswere dashedin pieceswith [their] children.
Samariawill be heldguilty,For she has rebelledagainst her God.They will fallby the sword,Their littleoneswill be dashedin pieces,And their pregnantwomenwill be rippedopen.
I will encounterthem like a bearrobbedof her cubs,And I will tearopen their chests;ThereI will also devourthem like a lioness,[As] a wildbeastwould tearthem.
Return,O Israel,to the LORDyour God,For you have stumbledbecause of your iniquity.
Ephraimis stricken,their rootis driedup, They will bearnofruit.Eventhoughthey bearchildren, I will slaythe preciousonesof their womb.
"Therefore,thussaysthe LORD,Your wifewill becomea harlotin the city,your sonsand your daughterswill fallby the sword,your landwill be parceledup by a [measuring] lineand you yourselfwill dieupon uncleansoil.Moreover, Israelwill certainlygofrom its landinto exile.'"
