Then they satdownto eata meal.And as they raisedtheir eyesand looked,behold,a caravanof Ishmaeliteswas comingfrom Gilead,with their camelsbearingaromaticgumand balmand myrrh,on their wayto bring[them] downto Egypt.
So he fledwith allthat he had; and he aroseand crossedthe [Euphrates] River,and sethis facetoward the hillcountryof Gilead.
then he tookhis kinsmenwith him and pursuedhim [a distance of] sevendays'journey,and he overtookhim in the hillcountryof Gilead.
and they tookhim and threwhim into the pit.Now the pitwas empty,withoutany waterin it.
Then someMidianitetraderspassedby, so they pulled[him] up and liftedJosephout of the pit,and soldhim to the Ishmaelitesfor twenty[shekels] of silver.Thus they broughtJosephinto Egypt.
Meanwhile, the Midianitessoldhim in Egyptto Potiphar,Pharaoh'sofficer,the captainof the bodyguard.
Now Josephhad been takendownto Egypt;and Potiphar,an Egyptianofficerof Pharaoh,the captainof the bodyguard,boughthim from the Ishmaelites,whohad takenhim downthere.
Then their fatherIsraelsaidto them, "If[it must be] so,thendothis:takesomeof the bestproductsof the landin your bags,and carrydownto the manas a present,a littlebalmand a littlehoney,aromaticgumand myrrh,pistachionutsand almonds.
The courierswentout impelledby the king'scommandwhile the decreewas issuedat the citadelin Susa;and while the kingand Hamansatdownto drink,the cityof Susawas in confusion.
Do allthe workersof wickednessnot know,Who eatup my people[as] they eatbread,[And] do not callupon the Lord?
The tentsof Edomand the Ishmaelites,Moaband the Hagrites;
Thisis the wayof an adulterouswoman:She eatsand wipesher mouth,And says,"I have donenowrong."
"I have comeinto my garden,my sister,[my] bride;I have gatheredmy myrrhalongwith my balsam.I have eatenmy honeycomband my honey;I have drunkmy wineand my milk.Eat,friends;Drinkand imbibedeeply,O lovers."
For thussaysthe LORDconcerningthe houseof the kingof Judah:"You are [like] Gileadto Me, [Like] the summitof Lebanon;Yet mostassuredlyI will makeyou like a wilderness,[Like] citieswhich are not inhabited.
Goup to Gileadand obtainbalm,O virgindaughterof Egypt!In vainhave you multipliedremedies;Thereis nohealingfor you.
Is therenobalmin Gilead?Is therenophysicianthere?Whythenhas not the healthof the daughterof my peoplebeen restored?
"The eastside,from betweenHauran,Damascus,Gileadand the landof Israel,[shall be] the Jordan;from the [north] borderto the easternseayou shall measure.This is the eastside.
Those who reclineon bedsof ivoryAnd sprawlon their couches,And eatlambsfrom the flockAnd calvesfrom the midstof the stall,
Who drinkwinefrom sacrificialbowlsWhile they anointthemselves with the finestof oils,Yet they have not grievedoverthe ruinof Joseph.
and Gilead,and the territoryof the Geshuritesand Maacathites,and allMountHermon,and allBashanas faras Salecah;
