Then Jacobbecameangryand contendedwith Laban;and Jacobsaidto Laban,"Whatis my transgression?Whatis my sinthat you have hotlypursuedme?
Then Jacob'sangerburnedagainst Rachel,and he said,"Am I in the placeof God,whohas withheldfrom you the fruitof the womb?"
She saidto her father,"Let not my lordbe angrythat I cannotrisebeforeyou, for the mannerof womenis upon me." So he searchedbut did not findthe householdidols.
"Thoughyou have feltthroughallmy goods,whathave you foundof allyour householdgoods?Set[it] herebeforemy kinsmenand your kinsmen,that they may decidebetweenus two.
Now the sonsof Jacobcamein from the fieldwhen they heard[it]; and the menwere grieved,and they were veryangrybecausehe had donea disgracefulthingin Israelby lyingwith Jacob'sdaughter,for sucha thingought not to be done.
"Cursedbe their anger,for it is fierce;And their wrath,for it is cruel.I will dispersethem in Jacob,And scatterthem in Israel.
So the manof Godwas angrywith him and said,"You should have struckfiveorsixtimes,thenyou would have struckAramuntilyou would have destroyed[it]. But nowyou shall strikeAram[only] threetimes."
But Naamanwas furiousand wentaway and said,"Behold,I thought,'He will surelycomeout to me and standand callon the nameof the LORDhis God,and wavehis handoverthe placeand curethe leper.'
The wickedfleewhen nooneis pursuing,But the righteousare boldas a lion.
Then Mosesbecameveryangryand saidto the LORD,"Do not regardtheir offering!I have not takena singledonkeyfrom them, norhave I doneharmto anyof them."
The peoplethus contendedwith Mosesand spoke,saying,"Ifonlywe had perishedwhen our brothersperishedbeforethe LORD!
After looking aroundat them with anger,grievedat their hardnessof heart,He saidto the man,"Stretchout your hand."And he stretchedit out, and his handwas restored.
BE ANGRY,AND [yet] DO NOT SIN;do not let the sungo downon your anger,
But JonathanansweredSaulhis fatherand saidto him, "Whyshould he be putto death?Whathas he done?"
