"Both thornsand thistlesit shall growfor you; And you will eatthe plantsof the field;

"His harvestthe hungrydevourAnd takeit to a [place of] thorns,And the schemeris eagerfor their wealth.
CoveringYourself with lightas with a cloak,Stretchingout heavenlike a [tent] curtain.
You turnmanbackinto dustAnd say,"Return,O childrenof men."
Thorns[and] snaresare in the wayof the perverse;He who guardshimselfwill be farfrom them.
And behold,it was completelyovergrownwith thistles;Its surfacewas coveredwith nettles,And its stonewallwas brokendown.
For the landof my people[in which] thorns[and] briarsshall comeup; Yea,for allthe joyfulhouses[and for] the jubilantcity.
"I will layit waste;It will not be prunedor hoed,But briarsand thornswill comeup. I will also chargethe cloudsto rainnorainon it."
And it will comeabout in that day,that everyplacewherethere used to be a thousandvines,[valued] at a thousand[shekels] of silver,will becomebriarsand thorns.
[People] will cometherewith bowsand arrowsbecauseallthe landwill be briarsand thorns.
"They have sownwheatand have reapedthorns,They have strainedthemselves to noprofit.But be ashamedof your harvestBecauseof the fierceangerof the LORD."
For thussaysthe LORDto the menof Judahand to Jerusalem,"Breakup your fallowground,And do not sowamongthorns.
"Othersfellamongthe thorns,and the thornscameup and chokedthem out.
Oneperson has faiththat he may eatall things,but he who is weakeatsvegetables[only].
but if it yieldsthornsand thistles,it is worthlessand closeto being cursed,and it endsup being burned.
knowwith certaintythat the LORDyour Godwill not continueto drivethesenationsout from beforeyou; but they will be a snareand a trapto you, and a whipon your sidesand thornsin your eyes,untilyou perishfrom offthisgoodlandwhichthe LORDyour Godhas givenyou.
