Liftup your eyeson highAnd seewhohas createdthese[stars], The One who leadsforththeir hostby number,He callsthem allby name;Becauseof the greatnessof His mightand the strengthof [His] power,Not one[of them] is missing.

Thussaysthe LORD,Who givesthe sunfor lightby dayAnd the fixedorderof the moonand the starsfor lightby night,Who stirsup the seaso that its wavesroar;The LORDof hostsis His name:

"Thussaysthe LORD,'IfMy covenant[for] dayand night[stand] not, [and] the fixedpatternsof heavenand earthI have not established,
Thussaysthe LordGOD,"The gateof the innercourtfacingeastshall be shutthe sixworkingdays;but it shall be openedon the sabbathdayand openedon the dayof the newmoon.
"On the dayof the newmoon[he shall offer] a youngbullwithoutblemish,also sixlambsand a ram,[which] shall be withoutblemish.
Beforethem the earthquakes,The heavenstremble,The sunand the moongrowdarkAnd the starslosetheir brightness.

"It will comeabout in that day,"declaresthe LordGOD,"That I will make the sungodown at noonAnd makethe earthdarkin broaddaylight.
"Whereis He who has been bornKingof the Jews?For we sawHis starin the eastand have cometo worshipHim."
"But immediatelyafterthe tribulationof thosedaysTHE SUNWILL BE DARKENED,AND THE MOONWILL NOT GIVEITS LIGHT,AND THE STARSWILL FALLfrom the sky,and the powersof the heavenswill be shaken.
"But in thosedays,afterthat tribulation,THE SUNWILL BE DARKENEDAND THE MOONWILL NOT GIVEITS LIGHT,
because the sunwas obscured;and the veilof the templewas tornin two.
"And [beware] not to liftup your eyesto heavenand seethe sunand the moonand the stars,allthe hostof heaven,and be drawnawayand worshipthem and servethem, those whichthe LORDyour Godhas allottedto allthe peoplesunderthe wholeheaven.
I lookedwhenHe brokethe sixthseal,and there was a greatearthquake;and the sunbecameblackas sackcloth[made] of hair,and the wholemoonbecamelikeblood;
The fourthangelsounded,and a thirdof the sunand a thirdof the moonand a thirdof the starswere struck,sothat a thirdof them would be darkenedand the daywould not shinefor a thirdof it, and the nightin the same way.
He openedthe bottomlesspit,and smokewentup out of the pit,likethe smokeof a greatfurnace;and the sunand the airwere darkenedby the smokeof the pit.
