Then he saidto me, "Thesewatersgoout towardthe easternregionand godowninto the Arabah;then they gotoward the sea,being made to flowinto the sea,and the waters[of the sea] becomefresh.
Then he criedout to the LORD,and the LORDshowedhim a tree;and he threw[it] into the waters,and the watersbecamesweet.ThereHe madefor them a statuteand regulation,and thereHe testedthem.
The wildernessand the desertwill be glad,And the Arabahwill rejoiceand blossom;Like the crocus
Thenthe lamewill leaplike a deer,And the tongueof the mutewill shoutfor joy.For waterswill breakforthin the wildernessAnd streamsin the Arabah.
The scorchedlandwill becomea poolAnd the thirstygroundspringsof water;In the hauntof jackals,its restingplace,Grass[becomes] reedsand rushes.
"The beastsof the fieldwill glorifyMe, The jackalsand the ostriches,BecauseI have givenwatersin the wildernessAnd riversin the desert,To givedrinkto My chosenpeople.
Sayingto those who are bound,'Goforth,'To those whoare in darkness,'Showyourselves.' Alongthe roadsthey will feed,And their pasture[will be] on allbareheights.
"With weepingthey will come,And by supplicationI will leadthem; I will make them walkby streamsof waters,On a straightpathin which they will not stumble;For I ama fatherto Israel,And Ephraimis My firstborn."
"For from the risingof the sunevento its setting,My name[will be] greatamong the nations,and in everyplaceincenseis going to be offeredto My name,and a grain offering[that is] pure;for My name[will be] greatamong the nations,"saysthe LORDof hosts.
FOR THE HEARTOF THISPEOPLEHAS BECOME DULL,WITH THEIR EARSTHEY SCARCELYHEAR,AND THEY HAVE CLOSEDTHEIR EYES,OTHERWISETHEY WOULD SEEWITH THEIR EYES,HEARWITH THEIR EARS,AND UNDERSTANDWITH THEIR HEARTAND RETURN,AND I WOULD HEALTHEM.'
for an angelof the Lordwent downat certainseasonsinto the pooland stirredup the water;whoever thenfirst,afterthe stirringup of the water,steppedin was madewellfrom whateverdiseasewith whichhe was afflicted].
the Arabahalso, with the Jordanas [a] border,from Chinneretheven as faras the seaof the Arabah,the SaltSea,at the footof the slopesof Pisgahon the east.
with allthe Arabahacrossthe Jordanto the east,even as faras the seaof the Arabah,at the footof the slopesof Pisgah.
the waterswhich were flowingdownfrom abovestood[and] roseup in oneheap,a greatdistanceaway at Adam,the citythat is besideZarethan;and those which were flowingdowntowardthe seaof the Arabah,the SaltSea,were completelycutoff.So the peoplecrossedoppositeJericho.
