The LORDdescendedin the cloudand stoodtherewith him as he calledupon the nameof the LORD.
That [men] may tellof the nameof the LORDin ZionAnd His praisein Jerusalem,
Now MountSinai[was] allin smokebecausethe LORDdescendedupon it in fire;and its smokeascendedlike the smokeof a furnace,and the wholemountainquakedviolently.
The LORDsaidto Moses,"Behold,I will cometo you in a thickcloud,sothat the peoplemay hearwhen I speakwith you and may alsobelievein you forever."Then Mosestoldthe wordsof the peopleto the LORD.
"Be on your guardbeforehim and obeyhis voice;do not be rebellioustoward him, for he will not pardonyour transgression,sinceMy nameis in him.
And He said,"I Myselfwill make allMy goodnesspassbeforeyou, and will proclaimthe nameof the LORDbeforeyou; and I will be graciousto whomI will be gracious,and will showcompassionon whomI will showcompassion."
Whenever Mosesenteredthe tent,the pillarof cloudwould descendand standat the entranceof the tent;and the LORD would speakwith Moses.
The nameof the LORDis a strongtower;The righteousrunsinto it and is safe.
Hearthe wordof the LORD,You rulersof Sodom;Giveearto the instructionof our God,You peopleof Gomorrah.
"Then I will comedownand speakwith you there,and I will takeof the Spiritwhois upon you, and will put[Him] upon them; and they shall bearthe burdenof the peoplewith you, so that you will not bear[it] all alone.
Then the LORDcamedownin the cloudand spoketo him; and He tookof the Spiritwhowas upon him and placed[Him] upon the seventyelders.And when the Spiritrestedupon them, they prophesied.But they did not do[it] again.
Then the LORDcamedownin a pillarof cloudand stoodat the doorwayof the tent,and He calledAaronand Miriam.When they had bothcomeforward,
"But now,I pray,let the powerof the Lordbe great,justas You have declared,
"For I proclaimthe nameof the LORD;Ascribegreatnessto our God!
So Samueltoldhim everythingand hidnothingfrom him. And he said,"It is the LORD;let Him dowhatseems goodto Him."
