"And it shall serveas a signto you on your hand,and as a reminderon your forehead,that the lawof the LORDmay be in your mouth;for with a powerfulhandthe LORDbroughtyou out of Egypt.
"They are Your servantsand Your peoplewhomYou redeemedby Your greatpowerand by Your stronghand.
And broughtIsraelout from their midst,For His lovingkindnessis everlasting,
With a stronghandand an outstretchedarm,For His lovingkindnessis everlasting.
You have a strongarm;Your handis mighty,Your righthandis exalted.
Now thisdaywill be a memorialto you, and you shall celebrateit [as] a feastto the LORD;throughout your generationsyou are to celebrateit [as] a permanentordinance.
And at the endof fourhundredand thirtyyears,to the veryday,allthe hostsof the LORDwentout from the landof Egypt.
"And it shall be whenyour sonasksyou in timeto come,saying,'Whatis this?'then you shall sayto him, 'With a powerfulhandthe LORDbroughtus out of Egypt,from the houseof slavery.
"So it shall serveas a signon your handand as phylacterieson your forehead,for with a powerfulhandthe LORDbroughtus out of Egypt."
Mosessaidto the people,"Rememberthisdayin whichyou wentout from Egypt,from the houseof slavery;for by a powerfulhandthe LORDbroughtyou out from thisplace. And nothingleavenedshall be eaten.
"So I will stretchout My handand strikeEgyptwith allMy miracleswhichI shall doin the midstof it; and afterthat he will let you go.
"When Pharaohdoes not listento you, then I will layMy handon Egyptand bringout My hosts,My peoplethe sonsof Israel,from the landof Egyptby greatjudgments.
Indeed,they are a gracefulwreathto your headAnd ornamentsabout your neck.
My son,let them not vanishfrom your sight;Keepsoundwisdomand discretion,
Untilan arrowpiercesthroughhis liver;As a birdhastensto the snare,So he does not knowthat it [will cost him] his life.
"Putme like a sealoveryour heart,Like a sealon your arm.For loveis as strongas death,Jealousyis as severeas Sheol;Its flashesare flashesof fire,The [very] flameof the LORD.
In that daythe LORDwill punishLeviathanthe fleeingserpent,With His fierceand greatand mightysword,EvenLeviathanthe twistedserpent;And He will killthe dragonwho[lives] in the sea.
Behold,the LordGODwill comewith might,With His armrulingfor Him. Behold,His rewardis with Him And His recompensebeforeHim.
"Thisonewill say,'I am the LORD'S;And that onewill callon the nameof Jacob;And anotherwill write[on] his hand,'Belonging to the LORD,'And will nameIsrael'snamewith honor.
"Behold,I have inscribedyou on the palms[of My hands]; Your wallsare continuallybeforeMe.
Awake,awake,puton strength,O armof the LORD;Awakeas in the daysof old,the generationsof longago.Was it not You who cutRahabin pieces,Who piercedthe dragon?
"As for Me, thisis My covenantwith them," saysthe LORD:"My Spiritwhichis upon you, and My wordswhichI have putin your mouthshall not departfrom your mouth,norfrom the mouthof your offspring,norfrom the mouthof your offspring'soffspring,"saysthe LORD,"from nowand forever."
"As I live,"declaresthe LORD,"eventhoughConiahthe sonof Jehoiakimkingof Judahwere a signet[ring] on My righthand,yetI would pullyou off;
"And now,O Lordour God,whohave broughtYour peopleout of the landof Egyptwith a mightyhandand have madea namefor Yourself, as it is thisday--we have sinned,we have beenwicked.
The LORDuttersHis voicebeforeHis army;SurelyHis campis verygreat,For strongis he who carriesout His word.The dayof the LORDis indeedgreatand veryawesome,And who can endureit?
"It shall be a tasselfor you to lookat and rememberallthe commandmentsof the LORD,so as to dothem and not followafteryour own heartand your own eyes,afterwhichyou playedthe harlot,
"But they doalltheir deedsto be noticedby men;for they broadentheir phylacteriesand lengthenthe tassels[of their garments].
But whatdoes it say?"THE WORDIS NEARYOU, IN YOUR MOUTHAND IN YOUR HEART"--that is, the wordof faithwhichwe are preaching,
"But the wordis verynearyou, in your mouthand in your heart,that you may observeit.
You shall rememberthat you were a slavein the landof Egypt,and the LORDyour Godbroughtyou out of thereby a mightyhandand by an outstretchedarm;thereforethe LORDyour Godcommandedyou to observethe sabbathday.
then you shall sayto your son,'We were slavesto Pharaohin Egypt,and the LORDbroughtus from Egyptwith a mightyhand.
"Thesewords,whichI am commandingyou today,shall be on your heart.
"You shall bindthem as a signon your handand they shall be as frontalson your forehead.
"For thisreasonin onedayher plagueswill come,pestilenceand mourningand famine,and she will be burnedup with fire;for the LordGodwho judgesher is strong.
and they forsookthe LORD,the Godof their fathers,who had broughtthem out of the landof Egypt,and followedothergodsfrom [among] the godsof the peopleswhowere aroundthem, and bowedthemselves downto them; thus they provokedthe LORDto anger.
