Children,obeyyour parentsin the Lord,for thisis right.
and that Jacobhad obeyedhis fatherand his motherand had goneto Paddan-aram.
Israelsaidto Joseph,"Are not your brotherspasturing[the flock] in Shechem?Come,and I will sendyou to them." And he saidto him, "I will go."
Then Josephtookthem from his knees,and bowedwith his faceto the ground.
Thushis sonsdidfor him as he had chargedthem;
"Then You camedownon MountSinai,And spokewith them from heaven;You gavethem justordinancesand true laws,Goodstatutesand commandments.
Estherhad not yet made knownher kindredor her people,evenas Mordecaihad commandedher; for EstherdidwhatMordecaitoldher as she had donewhenunder his care.
"He will singto menand say,I have sinnedand pervertedwhatis right,And it is not properfor me.
ThereforeI esteemrightall[Your] preceptsconcerning everything,I hateeveryfalse~way.Pe.
I know,O LORD,that Your judgmentsare righteous,And that in faithfulnessYou have afflictedme.
The preceptsof the LORDare right,rejoicingthe heart;The commandmentof the LORDis pure,enlighteningthe eyes.
Hear,my son,your father'sinstructionAnd do not forsakeyour mother'steaching;
Listento your fatherwho begotyou, And do not despiseyour motherwhenshe is old.
There is a kindof [man] who curseshis fatherAnd does not blesshis mother.
The eyethat mocksa fatherAnd scornsa mother,The ravensof the valleywill pickit out, And the youngeagleswill eatit.
My son,observethe commandmentof your fatherAnd do not forsakethe teachingof your mother;
"The wordsof Jonadabthe sonof Rechab,whichhe commandedhis sonsnot to drinkwine,are observed.So they do not drink[wine] to thisday,for they have obeyedtheir father'scommand.But I have spokento you againand again;yet you have not listenedto Me.
Then Jeremiahsaidto the houseof the Rechabites,"Thussaysthe LORDof hosts,the Godof Israel,'Becauseyou have obeyedthe commandof Jonadabyour father,keptallhis commandsand doneaccording to allthat he commandedyou;
"We have obeyedthe voiceof Jonadabthe sonof Rechab,our father,in allthat he commandedus, not to drinkwineallour days,we, our wives,our sonsor our daughters,
Whoeveris wise,let him understandthesethings;[Whoever] is discerning,let him knowthem. For the waysof the LORDare right,And the righteouswill walkin them, But transgressorswill stumblein them.
Everyoneof you shall reverencehis motherand his father,and you shall keepMy sabbaths;I am the LORDyour God.
And He went downwith them and cameto Nazareth,and He continued in subjectionto them; and His mothertreasuredall[these] thingsin her heart.
And do not be conformedto thisworld,but be transformedby the renewingof your mind,sothat you may provewhatthe willof Godis, that which is goodand acceptableand perfect.
that you receiveher in the Lordin a manner worthyof the saints,and that you helpher in whatevermattershe may have needof you; for she herselfhas alsobeena helperof many,and of myselfas well.
So then,the Lawis holy,and the commandmentis holyand righteousand good.
Therefore,my belovedbrethren,be steadfast,immovable,alwaysaboundingin the workof the Lord,knowingthat your toilis not [in] vainin the Lord.
"Ifanymanhasa stubbornand rebellioussonwho will not obeyhis fatheror his mother,and when they chastisehim, he will not even listento them,
but ifanywidowhaschildrenorgrandchildren,they must firstlearnto practice pietyin regard to their ownfamilyand to make some returnto their parents;for thisis acceptablein the sightof God.
Submityourselves for the Lord'ssaketo everyhumaninstitution,whetherto a kingas the one in authority,
She saidto her, "Allthat you sayI will do."
So Davidaroseearlyin the morningand leftthe flockwith a keeperand took[the supplies] and wentas Jessehad commandedhim. And he cameto the circleof the campwhile the armywas goingout in battlearrayshoutingthe warcry.
