beforethe sunand the light,the moonand the starsare darkened,and cloudsreturnafterthe rain;
Now it cameabout, whenIsaacwas oldand his eyeswere toodimto see,that he calledhis oldersonEsauand saidto him, "My son."And he saidto him, "HereI am."
Now the eyesof Israelwere [so] dimfrom age[that] he couldnot see.Then Joseph broughtthem closeto him, and he kissedthem and embracedthem.
Deepcallsto deepat the soundof Your waterfalls;AllYour breakersand Your waveshave rolledoverme.
You whohave shownme manytroublesand distressesWill reviveme again,And will bringme up againfrom the depthsof the earth.
The waterssawYou, O God;The waterssawYou, they were in anguish;The deepsalsotrembled.
As for the daysof our life,they contain seventyyears,Or ifdue to strength,eightyyears,Yet their prideis [but] laborand sorrow;For soonit is goneand we flyaway.
For the starsof heavenand their constellationsWill not flashforththeir light;The sunwill be darkwhen it risesAnd the moonwill not shedits light.
And it will growloverit in that daylike the roaringof the sea.If one looksto the land,behold,there is darkness[and] distress;Even the lightis darkenedby its clouds.
The sunand moongrowdarkAnd the starslosetheir brightness.
"But immediatelyafterthe tribulationof thosedaysTHE SUNWILL BE DARKENED,AND THE MOONWILL NOT GIVEITS LIGHT,AND THE STARSWILL FALLfrom the sky,and the powersof the heavenswill be shaken.
It happenedat that timeas Eliwas lyingdownin his place(now his eyesighthad begunto grow dim[and] he couldnot see[well]),
Now Eliwas ninety-eightyearsold,and his eyeswere setso that he couldnot see.
When he mentionedthe arkof God,Eli felloffthe seatbackwardbesidethe gate,and his neckwas brokenand he died,for he was oldand heavy.Thus he judgedIsraelfortyyears.
