"The LORDsaw[this], and spurned[them] Becauseof the provocationof His sonsand daughters.
For the wickedboastsof his heart'sdesire,And the greedymancurses[and] spurnsthe LORD.
Therefore the angerof the LORDwas kindledagainst His peopleAnd He abhorredHis inheritance.
For You are not a Godwho takespleasurein wickedness;Noevildwellswith You.
When Godheard,He was filledwith wrathAnd greatlyabhorredIsrael;
But You have castoffand rejected,You have beenfullof wrathagainstYour anointed.
Listen,O heavens,and hear,O earth;For the LORDspeaks,"SonsI have rearedand broughtup, But they have revoltedagainst Me.
"Whatright has My belovedin My houseWhenshe has donemanyviledeeds?Can the sacrificialfleshtakeawayfrom you your disaster,So[that] you can rejoice?"
Now the captainof the bodyguardhad takenJeremiahand saidto him, "The LORDyour Godpromisedthiscalamityagainstthisplace;
And He has violentlytreatedHis tabernaclelike a garden[booth]; He has destroyedHis appointedmeetingplace.The LORDhas caused to be forgottenThe appointedfeastand sabbathin Zion,And He has despisedkingand priestIn the indignationof His anger.
Moreover, I will makeMy dwellingamongyou, and My soulwill not rejectyou.
I then will destroyyour highplaces,and cutdownyour incensealtars,and heapyour remainson the remainsof your idols,for My soulshall abhoryou.
The LordGODhas swornby Himself,the LORDGodof hostshas declared:"I loathethe arroganceof Jacob,And detesthis citadels;Therefore I will deliverup [the] cityand allit contains."
Then I annihilatedthe threeshepherdsin onemonth,for my soulwas impatientwith them, and their soulalsowas wearyof me.
Sobecauseyou are lukewarm,and neitherhotnorcold,I willspityou out of My mouth.
The angerof the LORDburnedagainst Israel,and He gavethem into the handsof plundererswho plunderedthem; and He soldthem into the handsof their enemiesaround[them], so that they couldnolongerstandbeforetheir enemies.
