Now threetimesin a yearSolomonofferedburntofferingsand peaceofferingson the altarwhichhe builtto the LORD,burningincensewith them [on the altar] which[was] beforethe LORD.So he finishedthe house.
and [did so] according to the dailyrule,offering[them] up according to the commandmentof Moses,for the sabbaths,the newmoonsand the threeannualfeasts--the Feastof UnleavenedBread,the Feastof Weeksand the Feastof Booths.
Now when the seventhmonthcame,and the sonsof Israel[were] in the cities,the peoplegatheredtogether as onemanto Jerusalem.
So they proclaimedand circulateda proclamationin alltheir citiesand in Jerusalem,saying,"Goout to the hills,and bringolivebranchesand wildolivebranches,myrtlebranches,palmbranchesand branchesof [other] leafytrees,to makebooths,as it is written."
To whichthe tribesgoup, even the tribesof the LORD--An ordinancefor Israel--To givethanksto the nameof the LORD.
They gofrom strengthto strength,[Every one of them] appearsbeforeGodin Zion.
O LORDGodof hosts,hearmy prayer;Giveear,O Godof Jacob!Selah.
Ascribeto the LORDthe gloryof His name;Bringan offeringand comeinto His courts.
"You shall redeemwith a lambthe firstoffspringfrom a donkey;and ifyou do not redeem[it], then you shall breakits neck.You shall redeemallthe firstbornof your sons.Noneshall appearbeforeMe empty-handed.
"For I will driveout nationsbeforeyou and enlargeyour borders,and nomanshall covetyour landwhen you goup threetimesa yearto appearbeforethe LORDyour God.
Her gainand her harlot'swageswill be setapartto the LORD;it will not be storedup or hoarded,but her gainwill becomesufficientfoodand choiceattirefor those who dwellin the presenceof the LORD.
Lookupon Zion,the cityof our appointedfeasts;Your eyeswill seeJerusalem,an undisturbedhabitation,A tentwhich will not be folded;Its stakeswill neverbe pulledup, Noranyof its cordsbe tornapart.
"Like the flockfor sacrifices,like the flockat Jerusalemduring her appointedfeasts,sowill the wastecitiesbe filledwith flocksof men.Then they will knowthat I am the LORD."'"
"Speakto the sonsof Israel,saying,On the fifteenthof thisseventhmonthis the Feastof Boothsfor sevendaysto the LORD.
"[You] lookfor much,but behold,[it comes] to little;when you bring[it] home,I blowit [away]. Why?"declaresthe LORDof hosts,"Becauseof My housewhich[lies] desolate,while eachof you runsto his own house.
Aftercominginto the housethey sawthe Childwith MaryHis mother;and they fellto the ground and worshipedHim. Then,openingtheir treasures,they presentedto Him giftsof gold,frankincense,and myrrh.
"They tookhim, and beathim and sent him awayempty-handed.
Nowthe feastof the Jews,the Feast of Booths,was near.
"Sevendaysyou shall celebratea feastto the LORDyour Godin the placewhichthe LORDchooses,becausethe LORDyour Godwill blessyou in allyour produceand in allthe workof your hands,so that you will be altogetherjoyful.
"Everymanshall giveas he is able,according to the blessingof the LORDyour GodwhichHe has givenyou.
when allIsraelcomesto appearbeforethe LORDyour Godat the placewhichHe will choose,you shall readthislawin frontof allIsraelin their hearing.
Now thismanwould goup from his cityyearlyto worshipand to sacrificeto the LORDof hostsin Shiloh.And the twosonsof Eli,Hophniand Phinehas,were prieststo the LORDthere.
They said,"Ifyou sendawaythe arkof the Godof Israel,do not sendit empty;but you shall surelyreturnto Him a guiltoffering.Thenyou will be healedand it will be knownto you whyHis handis not removedfrom you."
