See,I have placedthe landbeforeyou; goin and possessthe landwhichthe LORDsworeto giveto your fathers,to Abraham,to Isaac,and to Jacob,to them and their descendantsafterthem.'
The LORDappearedto Abramand said,"To your descendantsI will givethisland."So he builtan altarthereto the LORDwho had appearedto him.
"Then in the fourthgenerationthey will returnhere,for the iniquityof the Amoriteis not yetcomplete."
On that daythe LORDmadea covenantwith Abram,saying,"To your descendantsI have giventhisland,From the riverof Egyptas faras the greatriver,the riverEuphrates:
"You providedbreadfrom heavenfor them for their hunger,You broughtforthwaterfrom a rockfor them for their thirst,And You toldthem to enterin order to possessThe landwhichYou sworeto givethem.
"I will fixyour boundaryfrom the RedSeato the seaof the Philistines,and from the wildernessto the River[Euphrates]; for I will deliverthe inhabitantsof the landinto your hand,and you will drivethem out beforeyou.
Then the LORDspoketo Moses,"Depart,goup from here,you and the peoplewhomyou have broughtup from the landof Egypt,to the landof whichI sworeto Abraham,Isaac,and Jacob,saying,To your descendantsI will giveit.'
and gavethem thisland,whichYou sworeto their forefathersto givethem, a landflowingwith milkand honey.
"You shall divideit for an inheritance,eachoneequally with the other;for I sworeto giveit to your forefathers,and thislandshall fallto you as an inheritance.
shall by nomeansseethe landwhichI sworeto their fathers,norshall anyof those who spurnedMe seeit.
Noneof the menwho cameup from Egypt,from twentyyearsoldand upward,shall seethe landwhichI sworeto Abraham,to Isaacand to Jacob;for they did not followMe fully,
May the LORD,the Godof your fathers,increaseyou a thousand-foldmorethan you are and blessyou, justas He has promisedyou!
Not oneof thesemen,thisevilgeneration,shall seethe goodlandwhichI sworeto giveyour fathers,
"Then the LORDsaidto me, 'Arise,proceedon your journeyaheadof the people,that they may goin and possessthe landwhichI sworeto their fathersto givethem.'
"Everyplaceon whichthe soleof your foottreadsshall be yours; your borderwill be from the wildernessto Lebanon,[and] from the river,the riverEuphrates,as faras the westernsea.
so that you may prolong[your] dayson the landwhichthe LORDsworeto your fathersto giveto them and to their descendants,a landflowingwith milkand honey.
justas the sonsof Esauwho livein Seirand the Moabiteswho livein Ardidfor me, untilI crossoverthe Jordaninto the landwhichthe LORDour Godis givingto us.'
Lookdownfrom Your holyhabitation,from heaven,and blessYour peopleIsrael,and the groundwhichYou have givenus, a landflowingwith milkand honey,as You sworeto our fathers.'
"You shall goto the priestwhois in office at that timeand sayto him, 'I declarethis dayto the LORDmy Godthat I have enteredthe landwhichthe LORDsworeto our fathersto giveus.'
"The LORDwill make you aboundin prosperity,in the offspringof your bodyand in the offspringof your beastand in the produceof your ground,in the landwhichthe LORDsworeto your fathersto giveyou.
that you may enterinto the covenantwith the LORDyour God,and into His oathwhichthe LORDyour Godis makingwith you today,
by lovingthe LORDyour God,by obeyingHis voice,and by holdingfastto Him; for thisis your lifeand the lengthof your days,that you may livein the landwhichthe LORDsworeto your fathers,to Abraham,Isaac,and Jacob,to givethem."
Then Mosescalledto Joshuaand saidto him in the sightof allIsrael,"Be strongand courageous,for you shall gowith thispeopleinto the landwhichthe LORDhas swornto their fathersto givethem, and you shall giveit to them as an inheritance.
Then the LORDsaidto him, "Thisis the landwhichI sworeto Abraham,Isaac,and Jacob,saying,'I will giveit to your descendants;I have let you see[it] with your eyes,but you shall not gooverthere."
"Now,O Israel,listento the statutesand the judgmentswhichI am teachingyou to perform,sothat you may liveand goin and takepossessionof the landwhichthe LORD,the Godof your fathers,is givingyou.
"Then it shall comeabout whenthe LORDyour Godbringsyou into the landwhichHe sworeto your fathers,Abraham,Isaacand Jacob,to giveyou, greatand splendidcitieswhichyou did not build,
"Then it shall comeabout, becauseyou listento thesejudgmentsand keepand dothem, that the LORDyour Godwill keepwith you His covenantand His lovingkindnesswhichHe sworeto your forefathers.
"He will loveyou and blessyou and multiplyyou; He will also blessthe fruitof your womband the fruitof your ground,your grainand your newwineand your oil,the increaseof your herdand the youngof your flock,in the landwhichHe sworeto your forefathersto giveyou.
but becausethe LORDlovedyou and keptthe oathwhichHe sworeto your forefathers,the LORDbroughtyou out by a mightyhandand redeemedyou from the houseof slavery,from the handof Pharaohkingof Egypt.
"Allthe commandmentsthat I am commandingyou todayyou shall be carefulto do,that you may liveand multiply,and goin and possessthe landwhichthe LORDswore[to give] to your forefathers.
"It is not for your righteousnessor for the uprightnessof your heartthat you are goingto possesstheir land,but [it is] becauseof the wickednessof thesenations[that] the LORDyour Godis drivingthem out beforeyou, in orderto confirmthe oathwhichthe LORDsworeto your fathers,to Abraham,Isaacand Jacob.
For when Godmade the promiseto Abraham,sinceHe couldswearby no onegreater,He sworeby Himself,
saying,"I WILL SURELYBLESSYOU AND I WILL SURELYMULTIPLYYOU."
"Be strongand courageous,for you shall givethispeoplepossessionof the landwhichI sworeto their fathersto givethem.
Now the angelof the LORDcameup from Gilgalto Bochim.And he said,"I broughtyou up out of Egyptand ledyou into the landwhichI have swornto your fathers;and I said,I will neverbreakMy covenantwith you,
