"And now,O Lordour God,whohave broughtYour peopleout of the landof Egyptwith a mightyhandand have madea namefor Yourself, as it is thisday--we have sinned,we have beenwicked.
"Then You performedsignsand wondersagainst Pharaoh,Against allhis servantsand allthe peopleof his land;For You knewthat they actedarrogantlytowardthem, And madea namefor Yourself as [it is] thisday.
we have sinned,committediniquity,actedwickedlyand rebelled,even turningasidefrom Your commandmentsand ordinances.
"They are Your servantsand Your peoplewhomYou redeemedby Your greatpowerand by Your stronghand.
Then Mosesentreatedthe LORDhis God,and said,"O LORD,whydoes Your angerburnagainst Your peoplewhomYou have broughtout from the landof Egyptwith greatpowerand with a mightyhand?
"Then the Egyptianswill knowthat I am the LORD,when I am honoredthrough Pharaoh,through his chariotsand his horsemen."
Then the LORDsaidto Moses,"Nowyou shall seewhatI will doto Pharaoh;for under compulsionhe will letthem go,and under compulsionhe will drivethem out of his land."
whodeliveredus from so greata [peril of] death,and will deliver[us], He on whomwe have set our hope.And He will yetdeliverus,
"But the tax collector,standingsome distance away,was evenunwillingto liftup his eyesto heaven,but was beatinghis breast,saying,'God,be mercifulto me, the sinner!'
"And the sonsaidto him, 'Father,I have sinnedagainstheavenand in your sight;I amno longerworthyto be calledyour son.'
"I signedand sealedthe deed,and calledin witnesses,and weighedout the silveron the scales.
"Insteadof the thornbushthe cypresswill comeup, And insteadof the nettlethe myrtlewill comeup, And it will be a memorialto the LORD,For an everlastingsignwhich will not be cutoff."
Nevertheless He savedthem for the sakeof His name,That He might makeHis powerknown.
(for they are Your peopleand Your inheritancewhichYou have broughtforthfrom Egypt,from the midstof the ironfurnace),
"But, indeed,for thisreasonI have allowed you to remain,in orderto showyou My powerand in orderto proclaimMy namethrough allthe earth.
"Say,therefore,to the sonsof Israel,I am the LORD,and I will bringyou out from underthe burdensof the Egyptians,and I will deliveryou from their bondage.I will also redeemyou with an outstretchedarmand with greatjudgments.
You shall rememberthat you were a slavein the landof Egypt,and the LORDyour Godbroughtyou out of thereby a mightyhandand by an outstretchedarm;thereforethe LORDyour Godcommandedyou to observethe sabbathday.
Mosessaidto the people,"Rememberthisdayin whichyou wentout from Egypt,from the houseof slavery;for by a powerfulhandthe LORDbroughtyou out from thisplace. And nothingleavenedshall be eaten.
"And it shall serveas a signto you on your hand,and as a reminderon your forehead,that the lawof the LORDmay be in your mouth;for with a powerfulhandthe LORDbroughtyou out of Egypt.
"And it shall be whenyour sonasksyou in timeto come,saying,'Whatis this?'then you shall sayto him, 'With a powerfulhandthe LORDbroughtus out of Egypt,from the houseof slavery.
"So it shall serveas a signon your handand as phylacterieson your forehead,for with a powerfulhandthe LORDbroughtus out of Egypt."
becausethey have doneevilin My sight,and have beenprovokingMe to angersincethe daytheir fatherscamefrom Egypt,even to thisday.'"
if they takethoughtin the landwherethey are takencaptive,and repentand makesupplicationto You in the landof their captivity,saying,'We have sinned,we have committediniquityand have actedwickedly';
let Your earnowbe attentiveand Your eyesopento hearthe prayerof Your servantwhichI am prayingbeforeYou now,dayand night,on behalfof the sonsof IsraelYour servants,confessingthe sinsof the sonsof Israelwhichwe have sinnedagainst You; I and my father'shousehave sinned.
For from daysof oldthey have not heardorperceivedby ear,Norhas the eyeseena GodbesidesYou, Who actsin behalf of the one who waitsfor Him.
We knowour wickedness,O LORD,The iniquityof our fathers,for we have sinnedagainst You.
We have transgressedand rebelled,You have not pardoned.
But she has rebelledagainstMy ordinancesmorewickedlythanthe nationsand againstMy statutesmorethanthe landswhichsurroundher; for they have rejectedMy ordinancesand have not walkedin My statutes.'
