Now when the sunwas goingdown, a deepsleepfellupon Abram;and behold,terror[and] greatdarknessfellupon him.
So the LORDGodcaused a deepsleepto fallupon the man,and he slept;then He tookoneof his ribsand closedup the fleshat that place.
"In a dream,a visionof the night,When soundsleepfallson men,While they slumberin their beds,
"Amid disquietingthoughtsfrom the visionsof the night,When deepsleepfallson men,
"I was asleepbut my heartwas awake.A voice!My belovedwas knocking:'Opento me, my sister,my darling,My dove,my perfectone!For my headis drenchedwith dew,My lockswith the dampof the night.'
And behold,one whoresembleda humanbeingwas touchingmy lips;then I openedmy mouthand spokeand saidto him who was standingbeforeme, "O my lord,as a result of the visionanguishhas comeupon me, and I have retainednostrength.
Now while he was talkingwith me, I sankinto a deepsleepwith my faceto the ground;but he touchedme and made me standupright.
I heardand my inwardpartstrembled,At the soundmy lipsquivered.Decayentersmy bones,And in my placeI tremble.BecauseI must waitquietlyfor the dayof distress,For the peopleto arise[who] will invadeus.
When He rosefrom prayer,He cameto the disciplesand foundthem sleepingfrom sorrow,
NowPeterand his companionshad beenovercomewith sleep;but when they were fully awake,they sawHis gloryand the twomenstandingwith Him.
WhenI sawHim, I fellat His feetlikea dead man.And He placedHis right handon me, saying,"Do not be afraid;I amthe firstand the last,
