On the firstday of the week,when we were gathered togetherto breakbread,Paul[began] talkingto them, intendingto leavethe next day,and he prolongedhis messageuntilmidnight.
He readfrom it beforethe squarewhichwas in frontof the WaterGatefrom earlymorninguntilmidday,in the presenceof menand women,those who could understand;and allthe peoplewere attentiveto the bookof the law.
While they stoodin their place,they readfrom the bookof the lawof the LORDtheir Godfor a fourthof the day;and for [another] fourththey confessedand worshipedthe LORDtheir God.
[Nowafter He had risenearlyon the firstday of the week,He firstappearedto MaryMagdalene,from whomHe had castout sevendemons.
And when He had taken[some] bread[and] given thanks,He brokeit and gaveit to them, saying,"Thisis My bodywhich is givenfor you; dothisin remembranceof Me."
They [began] to relatetheir experienceson the roadand howHe was recognizedby them in the breakingof the bread.
Nowon the first[day] of the weekMaryMagdalenecameearlyto the tomb,while it was stilldark,and sawthe stone[already] taken awayfrom the tomb.
Sowhen it was eveningon that day,the first[day] of the week,and when the doorswere shutwherethe discipleswere, for fearof the Jews,Jesuscameand stoodin their midstand saidto them, "Peace[be] with you."
AftereightdaysHis discipleswere againinside,and Thomaswith them. Jesuscame,the doorshaving been shut,and stoodin their midstand said,"Peace[be] with you."
Whenhe had seenthe vision,immediatelywe soughtto gointo Macedonia,concludingthat Godhad calledus to preach the gospelto them.
They were continually devoting themselvesto the apostles'teachingand to fellowship,to the breakingof breadand to prayer.
Day by daycontinuingwith one mindin the temple,and breakingbreadfrom house to house,they were takingtheir mealstogetherwith gladnessand sincerityof heart,
When he had gone[back] up and had brokenthe breadand eaten,he talkedwith them a long whileuntildaybreak,and thenleft.
"Thereforebe on the alert,rememberingthat nightand dayfor a period of three yearsI did not ceaseto admonisheachonewith tears.
But thesehad gone on aheadand were waitingfor us at Troas.
And there was a young mannamedEutychussittingon the window sill,sinkinginto a deepsleep;and as Paulkept on talking,he was overcomeby sleepand felldownfrom the third floorand was pickedup dead.
When they had seta dayfor Paul, they cameto him at his lodgingin large numbers;and he was explainingto them by solemnly testifyingabout the kingdomof Godand trying to persuadethem concerningJesus,from boththe Lawof Mosesand from the Prophets,from morninguntilevening.
Is not the cupof blessingwhichwe blessa sharingin the bloodof Christ?Is not the breadwhichwe breaka sharingin the bodyof Christ?
But by the graceof GodI amwhatI am,and His gracetowardme did not provevain;but I laboredeven morethan allof them, yetnot I, but the graceof Godwith me.
On the firstday of everyweekeach oneof you is to putasideand save,as he may prosper,sothat nocollectionsbe madewhenI come.
preachthe word;be readyin season[and] out of season;reprove,rebuke,exhort,with greatpatienceand instruction.
I was in the Spiriton the Lord'sday,and I heardbehindme a loudvoicelike[the sound] of a trumpet,
