"Then I pulverizedthem as the dustof the earth;I crushed[and] stampedthem as the mireof the streets.
"I have beenwith you whereveryou have goneand have cutoffallyour enemiesfrom beforeyou; and I will makeyou a greatname, like the namesof the greatmenwhoare on the earth.
For he leftto Jehoahazof the armynot morethanfiftyhorsemenand tenchariotsand 10,000footmen,for the kingof Aramhad destroyedthem and madethem like the dustat threshing.
Then I beatthem fineas the dustbeforethe wind;I emptiedthem out as the mireof the streets.
Let them be like chaffbeforethe wind,With the angelof the LORDdriving[them] on.
I sendit against a godlessnationAnd commissionit againstthe peopleof My furyTo capturebootyand to seizeplunder,And to tramplethem downlike mudin the streets.
You have increasedthe nation,O LORD,You have increasedthe nation,You are glorified; You have extendedallthe bordersof the land.
"Whohas arousedone from the eastWhom He callsin righteousnessto His feet?He deliversup nationsbeforehim And subdueskings. He makesthem like dustwith his sword,As the wind-driven chaffwith his bow.
"I have arousedone from the north, and he has come; From the risingof the sunhe will callon My name; And he will comeupon rulersas [upon] mortar,Even as the pottertreadsclay."
"Thenthe iron, the clay, the bronze, the silverand the goldwere crushedallat the sametimeand becamelike chafffrom the summerthreshingfloors;and the windcarriedthem away so that not a traceof them was found. But the stonethat struckthe statuebecamea greatmountainand filledthe wholeearth.
Then my enemywill see,And shamewill coverher who saidto me, "Whereis the LORDyour God?"My eyeswill lookon her; At that timeshe will be trampleddownLike mireof the streets.
"They will be as mightymen,Treadingdown[the enemy] in the mireof the streetsin battle; And they will fight, for the LORD[will be] with them; And the riderson horseswill be putto shame.
"Hothere!Fleefrom the landof the north,"declaresthe LORD,"for I have dispersedyou as the fourwindsof the heavens,"declaresthe LORD.
"For behold, the dayis coming, burninglike a furnace;and allthe arrogantand everyevildoerwill be chaff;and the daythat is comingwill setthem ablaze,"saysthe LORDof hosts,"sothat it will leavethem neitherrootnorbranch."
and they will fallby the edgeof the sword, and will be led captiveinto allthe nations;and Jerusalemwill be trampled underfoot by the Gentilesuntilthe timesof the Gentilesare fulfilled.
I would have said,"I will cutthem to pieces,I will removethe memoryof them from men,"
