Then Jacobsaidto Simeonand Levi,"You have broughttroubleon me by makingme odiousamong the inhabitantsof the land,among the Canaanitesand the Perizzites;and my menbeing fewin number,they will gathertogether againstme and attackme and I will be destroyed,I and my household."
When they told[it] to David,he sentto meetthem, for the menwere greatlyhumiliated.And the kingsaid,"Stayat Jerichountilyour beardsgrow,and [then] return."

Then DaviddefeatedHadadezer,the sonof Rehobkingof Zobah,as he wentto restorehis ruleat the River.
When the Arameansof Damascuscameto helpHadadezer,kingof Zobah,Davidkilled22000Arameans.
He gatheredmento himself and becameleaderof a maraudingband,after Davidslewthem of [Zobah]; and they wentto Damascusand stayedthere, and reignedin Damascus.
For the Lordhad caused the armyof the Arameansto heara soundof chariotsand a soundof horses,[even] the soundof a greatarmy,so that they saidto oneanother,"Behold,the kingof Israelhas hiredagainstus the kingsof the Hittitesand the kingsof the Egyptians,to comeupon us."

So they cameto Gedaliahat Mizpah,along with Ishmaelthe sonof Nethaniah,and Johananand Jonathanthe sonsof Kareah,and Seraiahthe sonof Tanhumeth,and the sonsof Ephaithe Netophathite,and Jezaniahthe sonof the Maacathite,[both] they and their men.
