Now Elishawas sittingin his house,and the elderswere sittingwith him. And [the king] senta manfrom his presence;but beforethe messengercameto him, he saidto the elders,"Do you seehowthissonof a murdererhas sentto takeawaymy head?Look,when the messengercomes,shutthe doorand holdthe doorshutagainst him. Is not the soundof his master'sfeetbehindhim?"
When Ahijahheardthe soundof her feetcomingin the doorway,he said,"Comein, wifeof Jeroboam,whydo you pretendto be anotherwoman?For I am sentto you [with] a harsh[message].
for when Jezebeldestroyedthe prophetsof the LORD,Obadiahtooka hundredprophetsand hidthem by fiftiesin a cave,and providedthem with breadand water.)
and seattwoworthlessmenbeforehim, and let them testifyagainst him, saying,You cursedGodand the king.'Then takehim out and stonehim to death."
Then the twoworthlessmencamein and satbeforehim; and the worthlessmentestifiedagainst him, even against Naboth,beforethe people,saying,"NabothcursedGodand the king."So they tookhim outsidethe cityand stonedhim to deathwith stones.
"You shall speakto him, saying,'Thussaysthe LORD,"Have you murderedand alsotakenpossession?"'And you shall speakto him, saying,'Thussaysthe LORD,"In the placewherethe dogslickedup the bloodof Naboththe dogswill lickup your blood,evenyours."'"
Then he saidto him, "Did not my heartgo[with you], whenthe manturnedfrom his chariotto meetyou? Is it a timeto receivemoneyand to receiveclothesand olivegrovesand vineyardsand sheepand oxenand maleand femaleservants?
Oneof his servantssaid,"No,my lord,O king;but Elisha,the prophetwhois in Israel,tellsthe kingof Israelthe wordsthat you speakin your bedroom."
Now the kingappointedthe royalofficeron whosehandhe leanedto havechargeof the gate;but the peopletrampledon him at the gate,and he diedjustas the manof Godhad said,whospokewhen the kingcamedownto him.
Moreover, the LORDmadeit knownto me and I knewit; ThenYou showedme their deeds.
becauseZedekiahkingof Judahhad shuthim up, saying,"Whydo you prophesy,saying,Thussaysthe LORD,"Behold,I am about to givethiscityinto the handof the kingof Babylon,and he will takeit;
Then someeldersof Israelcameto me and satdownbeforeme.
Now in the seventhyear,in the fifth[month], on the tenthof the month,certainof the eldersof Israelcameto inquireof the LORD,and satbeforeme.
"They cometo you as peoplecome,and sitbeforeyou [as] My peopleand hearyour words,but they do not dothem, for they dothe lustfuldesires[expressed] by their mouth,[and] their heartgoesaftertheir gain.
It cameabout in the sixthyear,on the fifth[day] of the sixthmonth,as I was sittingin my housewith the eldersof Judahsittingbeforeme, that the handof the LordGODfellon me there.
And He saidto them, "Goand tellthat fox,'Behold,I castout demonsand performcurestodayand tomorrow,and the third[day] I reach My goal.'
