Do not listento Hezekiah,for thussaysthe kingof Assyria,"Makeyour peacewith me and comeout to me, and eateachof his vineand eachof his figtreeand drinkeachof the watersof his own cistern,
and you shall say,'Behold,your servantJacobalsois behindus.'" For he said,"I will appeasehim with the presentthat goesbeforeme. Then afterwardI will seehis face;perhapshe will acceptme."
"Pleasetakemy giftwhichhas been broughtto you, becauseGodhas dealtgraciouslywith me and becauseI haveplenty."Thus he urgedhim and he took[it].
Judahand Israel[were] as numerousas the sandthat is on the seashorein abundance;[they] were eatingand drinkingand rejoicing.
So Judahand Israellivedin safety,everymanunderhis vineand his figtree,from Daneven to Beersheba,allthe daysof Solomon.

A man'sgiftmakesroomfor him And bringshim beforegreatmen.
He who tendsthe figtreewill eatits fruit,And he who caresfor his masterwill be honored.
"Their nobleshave senttheir servantsfor water;They have cometo the cisternsand foundnowater.They have returnedwith their vesselsempty;They have beenputto shameand humiliated,And they covertheir heads.
In that day,'declaresthe LORDof hosts,'everyoneof you will invitehis neighborto [sit] under[his] vineand under[his] figtree.'"
