Davidinquiredof the LORD,saying,"Shall I pursuethisband?Shall I overtakethem?" And He saidto him, "Pursue,for you will surelyovertakethem, and you will surelyrescue[all]."
He broughtbackallthe goods,and alsobroughtbackhis relativeLotwith his possessions,and alsothe women,and the people.
Then Davidinquiredof the LORD,saying,"Shall I goup againstthe Philistines?Will You givethem into my hand?"And the LORDsaidto David,"Goup, for I will certainlygivethe Philistinesinto your hand."
When Davidinquiredof the LORD,He said,"You shall not go[directly] up; circlearoundbehindthem and comeat them in frontof the balsamtrees.
Callupon Me in the dayof trouble;I shall rescueyou, and you will honorMe."
"He will callupon Me, and I will answerhim; I will be with him in trouble;I will rescuehim and honorhim.
"The enemysaid,'I will pursue,I will overtake,I will dividethe spoil;My desireshall be gratifiedagainst them; I will drawout my sword,my handwill destroythem.'
"Moreover, he shall standbeforeEleazarthe priest,who shall inquirefor him by the judgmentof the Urimbeforethe LORD.At his commandthey shall goout and at his commandthey shall comein, [both] he and the sonsof Israelwith him, even allthe congregation."
Now the sonsof Israelarose,wentup to Bethel,and inquiredof Godand said,"Whoshall goup firstfor us to battleagainstthe sonsof Benjamin?"Then the LORDsaid,"Judah[shall go up] first."
The sonsof Israelwentup and weptbeforethe LORDuntilevening,and inquiredof the LORD,saying,"Shall we againdrawnearfor battleagainstthe sonsof my brotherBenjamin?"And the LORDsaid,"Goup againsthim."
and Phinehasthe sonof Eleazar,Aaron'sson,stoodbeforeit to [minister] in thosedays),saying,"Shall I yetagaingoout to battleagainstthe sonsof my brotherBenjamin,orshall I cease?"And the LORDsaid,"Goup, for tomorrowI will deliverthem into your hand."
Then Gideonand the 300menwhowere with him cameto the Jordan[and] crossedover,wearyyet pursuing.
Therefore they inquiredfurtherof the LORD,"Has the mancomehereyet?"So the LORDsaid,"Behold,he is hidinghimselfby the baggage."
Saulinquiredof God,"Shall I godownafterthe Philistines?Will You givethem into the handof Israel?"But He did not answerhim on that day.
So Davidinquiredof the LORD,saying,"Shall I goand attackthesePhilistines?"And the LORDsaidto David,"Goand attackthe Philistinesand deliverKeilah."
Then Davidinquiredof the LORDoncemore.And the LORDansweredhim and said,"Arise,godownto Keilah,for I will givethe Philistinesinto your hand."
When Saulinquiredof the LORD,the LORDdid not answerhim, eitherby dreamsorby Urimorby prophets.
So Davidrecoveredallthat the Amalekiteshad taken,and rescuedhis twowives.
But nothingof theirswas missing,whethersmallorgreat,sonsor daughters,spoiloranythingthat they had takenfor themselves;Davidbrought[it] allback.
