Now KingSolomonleviedforcedlaborersfrom allIsrael;and the forcedlaborersnumbered30000men.

[As for] allthe peoplewho were leftof the Amorites,the Hittites,the Perizzites,the Hivitesand the Jebusites,whowere not of the sonsof Israel,
So Davidgaveordersto gatherthe foreignerswhowere in the landof Israel,and he setstonecuttersto hewout stonesto buildthe houseof God.

Now theseare the headsof the provinceswholivedin Jerusalem,but in the citiesof Judaheachlivedon his own propertyin their cities--the Israelites,the priests,the Levites,the templeservantsand the descendantsof Solomon'sservants.
The sonsof Solomon'sservants:the sonsof Sotai,the sonsof Sophereth,the sonsof Perida,
The handof the diligentwill rule,But the slack[hand] will be put to forcedlabor.
"Ifit agreesto makepeacewith you and opensto you, then allthe peoplewho are foundin it shall becomeyour forcedlaborand shall serveyou.
Now as for the Jebusites,the inhabitantsof Jerusalem,the sonsof Judahcouldnot drivethem out; so the Jebusiteslivewith the sonsof Judahat Jerusalemuntilthisday.
But they did not driveout the Canaaniteswho livedin Gezer,so the Canaaniteslivein the midstof Ephraimto thisday,and they becameforcedlaborers.
But the sonsof Manassehcouldnot takepossessionof thesecities,because the Canaanitespersistedin livingin that land.
It cameabout whenthe sonsof Israelbecamestrong,they putthe Canaanitesto forcedlabor,but they did not drivethem out completely.
But the sonsof Benjamindid not driveout the Jebusiteswho livedin Jerusalem;so the Jebusiteshave livedwith the sonsof Benjaminin Jerusalemto thisday.
The borderof the Amoritesran from the ascentof Akrabbim,from Selaand upward.
So the angerof the LORDburnedagainst Israel,and He said,"Becausethisnationhas transgressedMy covenantwhichI commandedtheir fathersand has not listenedto My voice,
