So Solomonobservedthe feastat that time,and allIsraelwith him, a greatassemblyfrom the entranceof Hamathto the brookof Egypt,beforethe LORDour God,for sevendaysand seven[more] days,[even] fourteendays.
On that daythe LORDmadea covenantwith Abram,saying,"To your descendantsI have giventhisland,From the riverof Egyptas faras the greatriver,the riverEuphrates:
Then Solomonawoke,and behold,it was a dream.And he cameto Jerusalemand stoodbeforethe arkof the covenantof the Lord,and offeredburntofferingsand madepeaceofferings,and madea feastfor allhis servants.
Now Solomonruledover allthe kingdomsfrom the River[to] the landof the Philistinesand to the borderof Egypt;[they] broughttributeand servedSolomonallthe daysof his life.
For he haddominionover everythingwestof the River,from Tiphsaheven to Gaza,over allthe kingswestof the River;and he hadpeaceon allsidesaroundabouthim.
Allthe menof Israelassembledthemselves to KingSolomonat the feast,in the monthEthanim,whichis the seventhmonth.
On the eighthdayhe sentthe peopleawayand they blessedthe king.Then they wentto their tentsjoyfuland gladof heartfor allthe goodnessthat the LORDhad shownto DavidHis servantand to IsraelHis people.
He restoredthe borderof Israelfrom the entranceof Hamathas faras the Seaof the Arabah,according to the wordof the LORD,the Godof Israel,whichHe spokethroughHis servantJonahthe sonof Amittai,the prophet,whowas of Gath-hepher.
The kingof Assyriabrought[men] from Babylonand from Cuthahand from Avvaand from Hamathand Sephar-vaim,and settled[them] in the citiesof Samariain placeof the sonsof Israel.So they possessedSamariaand livedin its cities.
PharaohNecoimprisonedhim at Riblahin the landof Hamath,that he might not reignin Jerusalem;and he imposedon the landa fineof one hundredtalentsof silverand a talentof gold.
the Arvadites,the Zemaritesand the Hamathites.
So DavidassembledallIsraeltogether, from the Shihorof Egypteven to the entranceof Hamath,to bringthe arkof Godfrom Kiriath-jearim.
Now manypeoplewere gatheredat Jerusalemto celebratethe Feastof UnleavenedBreadin the secondmonth,a verylargeassembly.
Then the wholeassemblydecidedto celebrate[the feast] anothersevendays,so they celebratedthe sevendayswith joy.
"I will fixyour boundaryfrom the RedSeato the seaof the Philistines,and from the wildernessto the River[Euphrates]; for I will deliverthe inhabitantsof the landinto your hand,and you will drivethem out beforeyou.
In that daythe LORDwill start [His] threshingfrom the flowingstreamof the Euphratesto the brookof Egypt,and you will be gatheredup oneby one,O sonsof Israel.
"The southsidetoward the south[shall extend] from Tamaras faras the watersof Meribath-kadesh,to the brook[of Egypt and] to the GreatSea.This is the southsidetoward the south.
"For behold,I am going to raiseup a nationagainstyou, O houseof Israel,"declaresthe LORDGodof hosts,"And they will afflictyou from the entranceof HamathTo the brookof the Arabah."
Gooverto Calnehand look,And gofrom thereto Hamaththe great,Then godownto Gathof the Philistines.Are they betterthanthesekingdoms,Oris their territorygreaterthanyours?
The bordershall turn[direction] from Azmonto the brookof Egypt,and its terminationshall be at the sea.
You shall drawa linefrom MountHorto the Lebo-hamath,and the terminationof the bordershall be at Zedad;
from the Shihorwhichis eastof Egypt,even as faras the borderof Ekronto the north(it is countedas Canaanite);the fivelordsof the Philistines:the Gazite,the Ashdodite,the Ashkelonite,the Gittite,the Ekronite;and the Avvite
and the landof the Gebalite,and allof Lebanon,toward the east,from Baal-gadbelowMountHermonas faras Lebo-hamath.
Now the lotfor the tribeof the sonsof Judahaccording to their familiesreachedthe borderof Edom,southwardto the wildernessof Zinat the extremesouth.
It continuedto Azmonand proceededto the brookof Egypt,and the borderendedat the sea.Thisshall be your southborder.
The fortifiedcities[were] Ziddim,Zerand Hammath,Rakkathand Chinnereth,
[These nations are]: the fivelordsof the Philistinesand allthe Canaanitesand the Sidoniansand the Hiviteswho livedin MountLebanon,from MountBaal-hermonas faras Lebo-hamath.
