As the kingpassedby, he criedto the kingand said,"Your servantwentout into the midstof the battle;and behold,a manturnedasideand broughta manto me and said,'Guardthisman;iffor anyreasonhe is missing,then your lifeshall be for his life,orelse you shall paya talentof silver.'
Then he hastilytookthe bandageawayfrom his eyes,and the kingof Israelrecognizedhim that he was of the prophets.
Now it cameabout afterthis,that Ben-hadadkingof Aramgatheredallhis armyand wentup and besiegedSamaria.
Hazaelsaid,"Whydoes my lordweep?"Then he answered,"BecauseI knowthe evilthat you will doto the sonsof Israel:their strongholdsyou will seton fire,and their youngmenyou will killwith the sword,and their littleonesyou will dashin pieces,and their womenwith childyou will ripup."
Noonewhomay have been setapartamongmenshall be ransomed;he shall surelybe putto death.
