Then the fireof the LORDfelland consumedthe burntofferingand the woodand the stonesand the dust,and lickedup the waterthat was in the trench.
It cameabout when the sunhad set,that it was verydark,and behold,[there appeared] a smokingovenand a flamingtorchwhichpassedbetweenthesepieces.
"Then you callon the nameof your god,and I will callon the nameof the LORD,and the Godwhoanswersby fire,He is God."And allthe peoplesaid,"That is a goodidea."
The waterflowedaroundthe altarand he alsofilledthe trenchwith water.
"Answerme, O LORD,answerme, that thispeoplemay knowthat You, O LORD,are God,and [that] You have turnedtheir heartbackagain."
Elijahrepliedto them, "IfI am a manof God,let firecomedownfrom heavenand consumeyou and your fifty."Then the fireof Godcamedownfrom heavenand consumedhim and his fifty.
Then Davidbuiltan altarto the LORDthereand offeredburntofferingsand peaceofferings.And he calledto the LORDand He answeredhim with firefrom heavenon the altarof burntoffering.
Now when Solomonhad finishedpraying,firecamedownfrom heavenand consumedthe burntofferingand the sacrifices,and the gloryof the LORDfilledthe house.
While he was stillspeaking,anotheralso cameand said,"The fireof Godfellfrom heavenand burnedup the sheepand the servantsand consumedthem, and I alonehave escapedto tellyou."
"His rockwill passawaybecauseof panic,And his princeswill be terrifiedat the standard,"Declaresthe LORD,whosefireis in Zionand whose furnaceis in Jerusalem.
Now Nadaband Abihu,the sonsof Aaron,tooktheir respectivefirepans,and after puttingfirein them, placedincenseon it and offeredstrangefirebeforethe LORD,whichHe had not commandedthem.
And firecameout from the presenceof the LORDand consumedthem, and they diedbeforethe LORD.
Then firecameout from beforethe LORDand consumedthe burntofferingand the portionsof faton the altar;and when allthe peoplesaw[it], they shoutedand fellon their faces.
He performsgreatsigns,sothat he evenmakesfirecome downout of heavento the earthin the presenceof men.
Then the angelof the LORDputout the endof the staffthat was in his handand touchedthe meatand the unleavenedbread;and firesprangup from the rockand consumedthe meatand the unleavenedbread.Then the angelof the LORDvanishedfrom his sight.
