For I do not wantyou to be unaware,brethren,that our fatherswere allunderthe cloudand allpassed throughthe sea;
You, in Your greatcompassion,Did not forsakethem in the wilderness;The pillarof clouddid not leavethem by day,To guidethem on their way,Northe pillarof fireby night,to lightfor them the wayin whichthey were to go.
He spreada cloudfor a covering,And fireto illumineby night.
He turnedthe seainto dryland;They passedthrough the riveron foot;Therelet us rejoicein Him!
He ledthem safely,so that they did not fear;But the seaengulfedtheir enemies.
But the sonsof Israelwalkedon drylandthrough the midstof the sea,and the waters[were like] a wallto them on their righthandand on their left.
Then the cloudcoveredthe tentof meeting,and the gloryof the LORDfilledthe tabernacle.
and they will tell[it] to the inhabitantsof thisland.They have heardthat You, O LORD,are in the midstof thispeople,for You, O LORD,are seeneyeto eye,while Your cloudstandsoverthem; and You gobeforethem in a pillarof cloudby dayand in a pillarof fireby night.
They journeyedfrom beforeHahirothand passedthrough the midstof the seainto the wilderness;and they wentthreedays'journeyin the wildernessof Ethamand campedat Marah.
"Our fathersworshipedin thismountain,and you [people] saythat in Jerusalemis the placewheremen oughtto worship."
I do not wantyou to be unaware,brethren,that oftenI have plannedto cometo you (and have been preventedsofar)sothat I may obtainsomefruitamongyou also,evenas amongthe restof the Gentiles.
for ifGoddid not sparethe naturalbranches,He will not spareyou, either.
and he receivedthe signof circumcision,a sealof the righteousnessof the faithwhich he had while uncircumcised,sothat he might be the fatherof allwho believewithout being circumcised,that righteousnessmight be creditedto them,
Nowconcerningspiritual[gifts], brethren,I do not wantyou to be unaware.
But ifanyonedoes not recognize[this], he is not recognized.
And ifyou belong to Christ,thenyou are Abraham'sdescendants,heirsaccordingto promise.
who goesbeforeyou on [your] way,to seekout a placefor you to encamp,in fireby nightand cloudby day,to showyou the wayin whichyou should go.
By faiththey passed throughthe RedSeaas though[they were passing] throughdryland;and the Egyptians,when they attemptedit, were drowned.
"For the LORDyour Goddriedup the watersof the Jordanbeforeyou untilyou had crossed,justas the LORDyour Godhad doneto the RedSea,whichHe driedup beforeus untilwe had crossed;
