Forgiving truly frees your soul, heals you deep down, and brings such peace of mind. There's no better feeling than having a clear conscience and a healthy heart. Holding onto unforgiveness just breeds anger, pain, depression, sadness, resentment, and so much more. God wants you to experience true freedom by learning to forgive, just as He forgives your sins and offenses every single day.
Even in your mistakes and weaknesses, God shows you His love, always giving you new chances. He wants you to extend that same grace to the people around you.
If you forgive others, your Heavenly Father will also forgive you. But if you do not forgive others, your Father will not forgive your sins. Jesus teaches us to forgive through His own example, showing eternal love to those who betrayed Him, even His closest friends.
Maybe you've been hurt and let down by friends, and your trust has been broken. But you should follow Jesus' example and forgive them. Choose to start fresh and not lose friendships over pride or arrogance. Practice humility and ask for forgiveness for any wrongs you've committed. Forgiveness isn't about making things right with the other person; it's about making things right with yourself and letting go of the burden that's holding you back and affecting your relationship with God.
If you love your friend, reach out, talk things through, and create new memories together. Leave the past behind, learn from it, and look forward to a beautiful future. Hold onto the principles of loyalty, honesty, and transparency, and your bond will be unshakable. Always remember Proverbs 17:9: "Whoever covers an offense seeks love, but he who repeats a matter separates close friends."
For if ye forgive men their trespasses, your heavenly Father will also forgive you.
But if ye forgive not men {\i their trespasses}, neither will your Father forgive your trespasses.\par
He that covereth a transgression seeketh love;\par\tab But he that harpeth on a matter separateth chief friends.
He that covereth his transgressions shall not prosper:\par\tab But whoso confesseth and forsaketh them shall obtain mercy.
And judge not, and ye shall not be judged: and condemn not, and ye shall not be condemned: release, and ye shall be released:
And whensoever ye stand praying, forgive, if ye have aught against any one; that your Father also who is in heaven may forgive you your trespasses.}\par
Take heed to yourselves: if thy brother sin, rebuke him; and if he repent, forgive him.
And if he sin against thee seven times in the day, and seven times turn again to thee, saying, I repent; thou shalt forgive him.}\par
He hath not dealt with us after our sins,\par\tab Nor rewarded us after our iniquities.
For as the heavens are high above the earth,\par\tab So great is his lovingkindness toward them that fear him.
As far as the east is from the west,\par\tab So far hath he removed our transgressions from us.
Render to no man evil for evil. Take thought for things honorable in the sight of all men.
If it be possible, as much as in you lieth, be at peace with all men.
Avenge not yourselves, beloved, but give place unto the wrath {\i of God}: for it is written, {\b Vengeance belongeth unto me; I will recompense,} saith the Lord.
If thou, Jehovah, shouldest mark iniquities,\par\tab O Lord, who could stand?
But there is forgiveness with thee,\par\tab That thou mayest be feared.
Brethren, even if a man be overtaken in any trespass, ye who are spiritual, restore such a one in a spirit of gentleness; looking to thyself, lest thou also be tempted.
But if any hath caused sorrow, he hath caused sorrow, not to me, but in part (that I press not too heavily) to you all.
Sufficient to such a one is this punishment which was {\i inflicted} by the many;
so that contrariwise ye should rather forgive him and comfort him, lest by any means such a one should be swallowed up with his overmuch sorrow.
Wherefore I beseech you to confirm {\i your} love toward him.
I, even I, am he that blotteth out thy transgressions for mine own sake; and I will not remember thy sins.
Brethren, I count not myself yet to have laid hold: but one thing {\i I do}, forgetting the things which are behind, and stretching forward to the things which are before.
I press on toward the goal unto the prize of the high calling of God in Christ Jesus.
{\b {\i A Psalm} of David.\par\tab Maschil.}\par\par\tab Blessed is he whose transgression is forgiven,\par\tab Whose sin is covered.
Blessed is the man unto whom Jehovah imputeth not iniquity,\par\tab And in whose spirit there is no guile.
Follow after peace with all men, and the sanctification without which no man shall see the Lord:
looking carefully lest {\i there be} any man that falleth short of the grace of God; lest any root of bitterness springing up trouble {\i you}, and thereby the many be defiled;
For thou, Lord, art good, and ready to forgive,\par\tab And abundant in lovingkindness unto all them that call upon thee.
If we confess our sins, he is faithful and righteous to forgive us our sins, and to cleanse us from all unrighteousness.
{\cf6 Judge not, that ye be not judged.
For with what judgment ye judge, ye shall be judged: and with what measure ye mete, it shall be measured unto you.
The discretion of a man maketh him slow to anger;\par\tab And it is his glory to pass over a transgression.
in whom we have our redemption through his blood, the forgiveness of our trespasses, according to the riches of his grace,
who delivered us out of the power of darkness, and translated us into the kingdom of the Son of his love;
in whom we have our redemption, the forgiveness of our sins:
{\b For the Chief Musician. A Psalm of David; when Nathan the prophet came unto him, after he had gone in to Bath-sheba.}\par\par\tab Have mercy upon me, O God, according to thy lovingkindness:\par\tab According to the multitude of thy tender mercies blot out my transgressions.
Wash me thoroughly from mine iniquity,\par\tab And cleanse me from my sin.
And Jesus said, {\cf6 Father, forgive them; for they know not what they do.} And parting his garments among them, they cast lots.
But he, being merciful, forgave {\i their} iniquity, and destroyed {\i them} not:\par\tab Yea, many a time turned he his anger away,\par\tab And did not stir up all his wrath.
Therefore I will judge you, O house of Israel, every one according to his ways, saith the Lord Jehovah. Return ye, and turn yourselves from all your transgressions; so iniquity shall not be your ruin.
My little children, these things write I unto you that ye may not sin. And if any man sin, we have an Advocate with the Father, Jesus Christ the righteous:
Cease from anger, and forsake wrath:\par\tab Fret not thyself, {\i it tendeth} only to evil-doing.
For ye, brethren, were called for freedom; only {\i use} not your freedom for an occasion to the flesh, but through love be servants one to another.
I will praise thee, O Lord my God, with my whole heart;\par\tab And I will glorify thy name for evermore.
For great is thy lovingkindness toward me;\par\tab And thou hast delivered my soul from the lowest Sheol.
But all things are of God, who reconciled us to himself through Christ, and gave unto us the ministry of reconciliation;
to wit, that God was in Christ reconciling the world unto himself, not reckoning unto them their trespasses, and having committed unto us the word of reconciliation.\par
Come now, and let us reason together, saith Jehovah: though your sins be as scarlet, they shall be as white as snow; though they be red like crimson, they shall be as wool.
And behold, they brought to him a man sick of the palsy, lying on a bed: and Jesus seeing their faith said unto the sick of the palsy, {\cf6 Son, be of good cheer; thy sins are forgiven.}
And he arose, and came to his father. But while he was yet afar off, his father saw him, and was moved with compassion, and ran, and fell on his neck, and kissed him.
{\b Be ye angry, and sin not}: let not the sun go down upon your wrath:
neither give place to the devil.
But God commendeth his own love toward us, in that, while we were yet sinners, Christ died for us.
But to whom ye forgive anything, I {\i forgive} also: for what I also have forgiven, if I have forgiven anything, for your sakes {\i have I forgiven it} in the presence of Christ;
Great peace have they that love thy law;\par\tab And they have no occasion of stumbling.
{\i doing} nothing through faction or through vainglory, but in lowliness of mind each counting other better than himself;
not looking each of you to his own things, but each of you also to the things of others.
Be pleased, O Jehovah, to deliver me:\par\tab Make haste to help me, O Jehovah.
Let them be put to shame and confounded together\par\tab That seek after my soul to destroy it:\par\tab Let them be turned backward and brought to dishonor\par\tab That delight in my hurt.
So shall also my heavenly Father do unto you, if ye forgive not every one his brother from your hearts.}\par
The merciful man doeth good to his own soul;\par\tab But he that is cruel troubleth his own flesh.
not rendering evil for evil, or reviling for reviling; but contrariwise blessing; for hereunto were ye called, that ye should inherit a blessing.
Put on therefore, as God's elect, holy and beloved, a heart of compassion, kindness, lowliness, meekness, longsuffering;
for all have sinned, and fall short of the glory of God;
being justified freely by his grace through the redemption that is in Christ Jesus:
Create in me a clean heart, O God;\par\tab And renew a right spirit within me.
Cast me not away from thy presence;\par\tab And take not thy holy Spirit from me.
Restore unto me the joy of thy salvation;\par\tab And uphold me with a willing spirit.
let the wicked forsake his way, and the unrighteous man his thoughts; and let him return unto Jehovah, and he will have mercy upon him; and to our God, for he will abundantly pardon.
Love suffereth long, {\i and} is kind; love envieth not; love vaunteth not itself, is not puffed up,
doth not behave itself unseemly, seeketh not its own, is not provoked, taketh not account of evil;
rejoiceth not in unrighteousness, but rejoiceth with the truth;
beareth all things, believeth all things, hopeth all things, endureth all things.
{\b For I will be merciful to their iniquities,\par\tab And their sins will I remember no more.}
So then let us follow after things which make for peace, and things whereby we may edify one another.
Whosoever hateth his brother is a murderer: and ye know that no murderer hath eternal life abiding in him.
If then ye were raised together with Christ, seek the things that are above, where Christ is, seated on the right hand of God.
Set your mind on the things that are above, not on the things that are upon the earth.
He that despiseth his neighbor sinneth;\par\tab But he that hath pity on the poor, happy is he.
But thou, O Lord, art a God merciful and gracious,\par\tab Slow to anger, and abundant in lovingkindness and truth.
How think ye? if any man have a hundred sheep, and one of them be gone astray, will he not leave the ninety and nine on the mountains, and go and seek that which goeth astray?
And if so be that he find it, verily I say unto you, he rejoiceth over it more than over the ninety and nine which have not gone astray.
Even so it is not the will of your Father who is in heaven, that one of these little ones should perish.\par
In love of the brethren be tenderly affectioned one to another; in honor preferring one another;
that he would grant you, according to the riches of his glory, that ye may be strengthened with power through his Spirit in the inward man;
Heaviness in the heart of a man maketh it stoop;\par\tab But a good word maketh it glad.
Remember ye not the former things, neither consider the things of old.
Behold, I will do a new thing; now shall it spring forth; shall ye not know it? I will even make a way in the wilderness, and rivers in the desert.
Or know ye not that your body is a temple of the Holy Spirit which is in you, which ye have from God? and ye are not your own;
for ye were bought with a price: glorify God therefore in your body.\par
And he hath said unto me, {\cf6 My grace is sufficient for thee: for {\i my} power is made perfect in weakness.} Most gladly therefore will I rather glory in my weaknesses, that the power of Christ may rest upon me.
Ye have heard that it was said, {\b An eye for an eye, and a tooth for a tooth}:
but I say unto you, Resist not him that is evil: but whosoever smiteth thee on {\i thy} right cheek, turn to him the other also.
In nothing be anxious; but in everything by prayer and supplication with thanksgiving let your requests be made known unto God.
And the peace of God, which passeth all understanding, shall guard your hearts and your thoughts in Christ Jesus.\par
Even so ye also, when ye shall have done all the things that are commanded you, say, We are unprofitable servants; we have done that which it was our duty to do.}\par
Rejoice, and be exceeding glad: for great is your reward in heaven: for so persecuted they the prophets that were before you.\par
But the fruit of the Spirit is love, joy, peace, longsuffering, kindness, goodness, faithfulness,
He shall call upon me, and I will answer him;\par\tab I will be with him in trouble:\par\tab I will deliver him, and honor him.
Let us therefore draw near with boldness unto the throne of grace, that we may receive mercy, and may find grace to help {\i us} in time of need.\par
if we walk in the light, as he is in the light, we have fellowship one with another, and the blood of Jesus his Son cleanseth us from all sin.
There is therefore now no condemnation to them that are in Christ Jesus.
For the law of the Spirit of life in Christ Jesus made thee free from the law of sin and of death.
Trust in Jehovah, and do good;\par\tab Dwell in the land, and feed on {\i his} faithfulness.
Heal the sick, raise the dead, cleanse the lepers, cast out demons: freely ye received, freely give.
Let the words of my mouth and the meditation of my heart\par\tab Be acceptable in thy sight, O Jehovah, my rock, and my redeemer.\par
If thine enemy be hungry, give him bread to eat;\par\tab And if he be thirsty, give him water to drink:
For thou wilt heap coals of fire upon his head,\par\tab And Jehovah will reward thee.
{\b But if thine enemy hunger, feed him; if he thirst, give him to drink: for in so doing thou shalt heap coals of fire upon his head.}
Confess therefore your sins one to another, and pray one for another, that ye may be healed. The supplication of a righteous man availeth much in its working.
and be ye kind one to another, tenderhearted, forgiving each other, even as God also in Christ forgave you.\par
And if thy brother sin, go, show him his fault between thee and him alone: if he hear thee, thou hast gained thy brother.
If therefore thou art offering thy gift at the altar, and there rememberest that thy brother hath aught against thee,
leave there thy gift before the altar, and go thy way, first be reconciled to thy brother, and then come and offer thy gift.
Then came Peter and said to him, Lord, how oft shall my brother sin against me, and I forgive him? until seven times?
Jesus saith unto him, {\cf6 I say not unto thee, Until seven times; but, Until seventy times seven.
forbearing one another, and forgiving each other, if any man have a complaint against any; even as the Lord forgave you, so also do ye:
above all things being fervent in your love among yourselves; for love covereth a multitude of sins:
