“Is this not the son of the carpenter? Is not His mother called Miryam? And His brothers Ya‛aqoḇ and Yosĕph and Shim‛on and Yehuḏah?
And as יהושע passed on from there, He saw a man called Mattithyahu sitting at the tax office. And He said to him, “Follow Me.” And he rose and followed Him.
And passing by, He saw Lĕwi the son of Alphai sitting at the tax office, and said to him, “Follow Me.” And having risen he followed Him.
and Ya‛aqoḇ the son of Zaḇdai, and Yoḥanan the brother of Ya‛aqoḇ, to whom He added the name Beni-Reḡes, that is, “Sons of Thunder,”
and Yehuḏah from Qerioth, who did also deliver Him up. And they went into a house,
Is this not the carpenter, the Son of Miryam, and brother of Ya‛aqoḇ, and Yosĕph, and Yehuḏah, and Shim‛on? And are not His sisters here with us? And they stumbled in Him.
Andri, the brother of Shim‛on Kĕpha, was one of the two who heard from Yoḥanan, and followed Him.

And after they were silent, Ya‛aqoḇ answered, saying, “Men, brothers, listen to me:

Do we not have a right to take along a sister – a wife – as do also the other emissaries, and the brothers of the Master, and Kĕpha?
And I saw no other of the emissaries except Ya‛aqoḇ, the brother of the Master.
So when Ya‛aqoḇ, Kĕpha, and Yoḥanan, who seemed to be supports, came to know the favour that had been given to me, they gave me and Barnaḇa the right hand of fellowship, in order that we go to the nations and they to the circumcised,
