He made a path for his anger; he did not spare them from death, but gave their lives over to the plague.


But he said to them, “The Lord be with you, if ever I let you and your little ones go! Look, you have some evil purpose in mind.


There shall be a great cry throughout all the land of Egypt, such as there has never been, nor ever will be again.


Whoever closes his ear to the cry of the poor will himself call out and not be answered.


and in all vineyards there shall be wailing, for I will pass through your midst,” says the Lord.


Before him went pestilence, and plague followed at his heels.


But at midnight there was a cry, ‘Here is the bridegroom! Come out to meet him.’


For judgment is without mercy to one who has shown no mercy. Mercy triumphs over judgment.


The men who did not die were struck with tumors, and the cry of the city went up to heaven.
