And sons were born to Joseph, in the land of Egypt, whom Aseneth the daughter of Putiphare priest of Heliopolis bore him: Manasses and Ephraim.


And it was told the old man: Behold, thy son Joseph cometh to thee. And being strengthened he sat on his bed.


So thy two sons, who were born to thee in the land of Egypt before I came hither to thee, shall be mine: Ephraim and Manasses shall be reputed to me as Ruben and Simeon.


After which he told his brethren: God will visit you after my death, and will make you go up out of this land, to the land which he swore to Abraham, Isaac, and Jacob.


Now Eliseus was sick of the illness whereof he died. And Joas king of Israel went down to him, and wept before him, and said: O my father, my father, the chariot of Israel and the guider thereof.


And Eliseus died, and they buried him. And the rovers from Moab came into the land the same year.


And Job lived after these things a hundred and forty years: and he saw his children, and his children's children, unto the fourth generation. And he died, an old man and full of days.


Let them be as grass on the tops of houses: which withered before it be plucked up:


His sisters therefore sent to him, saying: Lord, behold, he whom thou lovest is sick.


By faith Jacob dying, blessed each of the sons of Joseph, and adored the top of his rod.


But in their place succeeded the children of Joseph divided into two tribes, of Manasses and Ephraim. Neither did the Levites receive other portion of land, but cities to dwell in, and their suburbs to feed their beasts and flocks.
