And I will make of thee a great nation, and I will bless thee, and magnify thy name: and thou shalt be blessed.


And I will make thy seed as the dust of the earth: if any man be able to number the dust of the earth, he shall be able to number thy seed also.


Which when Abram had heard, to wit, that his brother Lot was taken, he numbered of the servants born in his house, three hundred and eighteen well appointed: and pursued them to Dan.


And Abram said: Lord God, what wilt thou give me? I shall go without children: and the son of the steward of my house is this Damascus Eliezer.


Hope that is deferred afflicteth the soul: desire when it cometh is a tree of life.


He that nourisheth his servant delicately from his childhood, afterwards shall find him stubborn.


By an odious woman when she is married: and by a bondwoman when she is heir to her mistress.


I got me menservants, and maidservants, and had a great family: and herds of oxen, and great flocks of sheep, above all that were before me in Jerusalem:


Thou indeed, O Lord, art just, if I plead with thee, but yet I will speak what is just to thee: Why doth the way of the wicked prosper? Why is it well with all them that transgress and do wickedly?
