He took also butter and milk, and the calf which he had boiled; and set before them. But he stood by them under the tree.


Tying his foal to the vineyard, and his ass, O my son, to the vine. He shall wash his robe in wine, and his garment in the blood of the grape.


And honey, and butter, and sheep, and fat calves. And they gave to David and the people that were with him, to eat: for they suspected that the people were faint with hunger and thirst in the wilderness.


And they took strong cities and a fat land, and possessed houses full of all goods: cisterns made by others, vineyards, and oliveyards, and fruit trees in abundance. And they ate, and were filled, and became fat, and abounded with delight in thy great goodness.


But they provoked thee to wrath, and departed from thee, and threw thy law behind their backs. And they killed thy prophets, who admonished them earnestly to return to thee. And they were guilty of great blasphemies.


(Let him not see the streams of the river, the brooks of honey and of butter.)


When I washed my feet with butter: and the rock poured me out rivers of oil?


Who hath placed peace in thy borders: and filleth thee with the fat of corn.


He shall eat butter and honey, that he may know to refuse the evil, and to choose the good.


And for the abundance of milk he shall eat butter: for, butter and honey shall every one eat that shall be left in the midst of the land.


You shall eat the flesh of the mighty, and you shall drink the blood of the princes of the earth, of rams, and of lambs, and of he goats, and bullocks, and of all that are well fed and fat.


I will draw them with the cords of Adam, with the bands of love: and I will be to them as one that taketh off the yoke on their jaws: and I put his meat to him that he might eat.


Hear this word, ye fat kine that are in the mountains of Samaria: you that oppress the needy, and crush the poor: that say to your masters: Bring, and we will drink.


Feed thy people with thy rod, the flock of thy inheritance, them that dwell alone in the forest, in the midst of Carmel: they shall feed in Basan and Galaad according to the days of old.


All the best of the oil, and of the wine, and of the corn, whatsoever first-fruits they offer to the Lord, I have given them to thee.


Because thou didst not serve the Lord thy God with joy and gladness of heart, for the abundance of all things:


And the press was trodden without the city, and blood came out of the press, up to the horses' bridles, for a thousand and six hundred furlongs.


He asked her water: and she gave him milk, and offered him butter in a dish fit for princes.
