The dissembler with his mouth deceiveth his friend: but the just shall be delivered by knowledge.


And any consecration that is offered by man shall not be redeemed, but dying shall die.


The person that sweareth, and uttereth with his lips, that he would do either evil or good, and bindeth the same with an oath, and his word: and having forgotten it afterwards understandeth his offence,


But Israel, binding himself by vow to the Lord, said: It thou wilt deliver this people into my hand, I will utterly destroy their cities.


These curses shall light upon thee. The Lord make thee a curse, and an example for all among his people. May he make thy thigh to rot: and may thy belly swell and burst asunder.


For I bear them witness, that they have a zeal of God, but not according to knowledge.


If any man love not our Lord Jesus Christ, let him be anathema, maranatha.


Cursed be the man before the Lord, that shall raise up and build the city of Jericho. In his firstborn may he lay the foundation thereof, and in the last of his children set up its gates.


But after Israel was grown strong he made them tributaries, and would not destroy them.


O you of Israel, that have willingly offered your lives to danger, bless the Lord.


And all the common people came into a forest, in which there was honey upon the ground.


As the Lord liveth who is the saviour of Israel, if it was done by Jonathan my son, he shall surely die. In this none of the people gainsaid him.


And Saul said: Speak thus to David: The king desireth not any dowry, but only a hundred foreskins of the Philistines, to be avenged of the king's enemies. Now Saul thought to deliver David into the hands of the Philistines.
