34 Certainly, I have seen the affliction of my people who are in Egypt, and I have heard their groaning. And so, I am coming down to free them. And now, go forth and I will send you into Egypt.'

Then the Lord descended to see the city and the tower, which the sons of Adam were building.


Therefore, come, let us descend, and in that place confound their tongue, so that they may not listen, each one to the voice of his neighbor."


I will descend and see whether they have fulfilled the work of the outcry that has reached me, or whether it is not so, in order that I may know."


And you saw the affliction of our fathers in Egypt. And you heard their outcry beside the Red Sea.


And he lifted up his hand over them, in order to prostrate them in the desert,


They will tell of the magnificent glory of your sanctity. And they will discourse of your wonders.


God said to Moses, "I AM WHO AM." He said: "Thus shall you say to the sons of Israel: 'HE WHO IS has sent me to you.' "


and the people believed. And they heard that the Lord had visited the sons of Israel, and that he had looked with favor upon their affliction. And falling prostrate, they worshiped.


I wish that you would rend the heavens, and then descend! The mountains would flow away before your face.


Yet by a prophet the Lord led Israel out of Egypt, and he was served by a prophet.


For I led you out of the land of Egypt, and I freed you from the house of servitude, and I sent before your face Moses, and Aaron, and Miriam.


so that I may descend and speak to you. And I will take from your spirit, and I will deliver it to them, so that, with you, they may sustain the burden of the people, and so that you will not be weighed down alone.


And no one has ascended to heaven, except the one who descended from heaven: the Son of man who is in heaven.


For I descended from heaven, not to do my own will, but the will of him who sent me.


And while the Lord was raising up the judges, in their days, he was moved to mercy, and he listened to the groaning of the afflicted, and he freed them from the slaughter of their oppressors.
