Therefore, Pilate went outside to them, and he said, "What accusation are you bringing against this man?"
Therefore, Pilate said to them, "Take him yourselves and judge him according to your own law." Then the Jews said to him, "It is not lawful for us to execute anyone."
And from then on, Pilate was seeking to release him. But the Jews were crying out, saying: "If you release this man, you are no friend of Caesar. For anyone who makes himself a king contradicts Caesar."
The God of Abraham and the God of Isaac and the God of Jacob, the God of our fathers, has glorified his Son Jesus, whom you, indeed, handed over and denied before the face of Pilate, when he was giving judgment to release him.
I labor in this Gospel, even while chained like an evildoer. But the Word of God is not bound.
But let none of you suffer for being a murderer, or a thief, or a slanderer, or one who covets what belongs to another.
