Jeremiah 18 - King James Bible with Strong Numbers

H1697The wordH3414which came to JeremiahH3068from the LORDH559, saying[H8800] ,

H6965Arise[H8798] H3381, and go down[H8804] H3335to the potter's[H8802] H1004houseH8085, and there I will cause thee to hear[H8686] H1697my words.

H3381Then I went down[H8799] H3335to the potter's[H8802] H1004houseH2009, and, beholdH6213, he wrought[H8802] H4399a workH70on the wheels.

H3627And the vesselH6213that he made[H8802] H2563of clayH7843was marred[H8738] H3027in the handH3335of the potter[H8802] H6213: so he made[H8799] H7725it again[H8804] H312anotherH3627vesselH5869, as seemedH3474good[H8804] H3335to the potter[H8802] H6213to make[H8800]  it .

H1697Then the wordH3068of the LORDH559came to me, saying[H8800] ,

H1004O houseH3478of IsraelH3201, cannot[H8799] H6213I do[H8800] H3335with you as this potter[H8802] H5002? saith[H8803] H3068the LORDH2563. Behold, as the clayH3335is in the potter's[H8802] H3027handH3027, so are ye in mine handH1004, O houseH3478of Israel.

H7281At what instantH1696I shall speak[H8762] H1471concerning a nationH4467, and concerning a kingdomH5428, to pluck up[H8800] H5422, and to pull down[H8800] H6, and to destroy[H8687]  it;

H1471If that nationH1696, against whom I have pronounced[H8765] H7725, turn[H8804] H7451from their evilH5162, I will repent[H8738] H7451of the evilH2803that I thought[H8804] H6213to do[H8800]  unto them.

H7281And at what instantH1696I shall speak[H8762] H1471concerning a nationH4467, and concerning a kingdomH1129, to build[H8800] H5193and to plant[H8800]  it;

H6213If it do[H8804] H7451evilH5869in my sightH8085, that it obey[H8800] H6963not my voiceH5162, then I will repent[H8738] H2896of the goodH559, wherewith I said[H8804] H3190I would benefit[H8687]  them.

H559Now therefore go to, speak[H8798] H376to the menH3063of JudahH3427, and to the inhabitants[H8802] H3389of JerusalemH559, saying[H8800] H559, Thus saith[H8804] H3068the LORDH3335; Behold, I frame[H8802] H7451evilH2803against you, and devise[H8802] H4284a deviceH7725against you: return[H8798] H376ye now every oneH7451from his evilH1870wayH1870, and make your waysH4611and your doingsH3190good[H8685] .

H559And they said[H8804] H2976, There is no hope[H8737] H3212: but we will walk[H8799] H310afterH4284our own devicesH376, and we will every oneH6213do[H8799] H8307the imaginationH7451of his evilH3820heart.

H559Therefore thus saith[H8804] H3068the LORDH7592; Ask[H8798] H1471ye now among the heathenH8085, who hath heard[H8804] H1330such things: the virginH3478of IsraelH6213hath done[H8804] H3966a veryH8186horrible thing.

H5800Will a man leave[H8799] H7950the snowH3844of LebanonH6697which cometh from the rockH7704of the fieldH7119? or shall the coldH5140flowing[H8802] H4325watersH2114that come from another place[H8801] H5428be forsaken[H8735] ?

H5971Because my peopleH7911hath forgotten[H8804] H6999me, they have burned incense[H8762] H7723to vanityH3782, and they have caused them to stumble[H8686] H1870in their waysH5769from the ancientH7635paths[H8675] H7635 H3212, to walk[H8800] H5410in pathsH1870, in a wayH5549not cast up[H8803] ;

H7760To make[H8800] H776their landH8047desolateH5769, and a perpetualH8292hissing[H8675] H8292 H5674; every one that passeth[H8802] H8074thereby shall be astonished[H8799] H5110, and wag[H8686] H7218his head.

H6327I will scatter[H8686] H6921them as with an eastH7307windH6440beforeH341the enemy[H8802] H7200; I will shew[H8799] H6203them the backH6440, and not the faceH3117, in the dayH343of their calamity.

H559Then said[H8799] H3212they, Come[H8798] H2803, and let us devise[H8799] H4284devicesH3414against JeremiahH8451; for the lawH6shall not perish[H8799] H3548from the priestH6098, nor counselH2450from the wiseH1697, nor the wordH5030from the prophetH3212. Come[H8798] H5221, and let us smite[H8686] H3956him with the tongueH7181, and let us not give heed[H8686] H1697to any of his words.

H7181Give heed[H8685] H3068to me, O LORDH8085, and hearken[H8798] H6963to the voiceH3401of them that contend with me.

H7451Shall evilH7999be recompensed[H8792] H2896for goodH3738? for they have digged[H8804] H7745a pitH5315for my soulH2142. Remember[H8798] H5975that I stood[H8800] H6440beforeH1696thee to speak[H8763] H2896goodH7725for them, and to turn away[H8687] H2534thy wrath from them.

H5414Therefore deliver up[H8798] H1121their childrenH7458to the famineH5064, and pour out[H8685] H3027their blood by the forceH2719of the swordH802; and let their wivesH7909be bereavedH490of their children, and be widowsH582; and let their menH2026be put[H8803] H4194to deathH970; let their young menH5221be slain[H8716] H2719by the swordH4421in battle.

H2201Let a cryH8085be heard[H8735] H1004from their housesH935, when thou shalt bring[H8686] H1416a troopH6597suddenlyH3738upon them: for they have digged[H8804] H7745a pit[H8675] H7882 H3920to take[H8800] H2934me, and hid[H8804] H6341snaresH7272for my feet.

H3068Yet, LORDH3045, thou knowest[H8804] H6098all their counselH4194against me to slayH3722me : forgive[H8762] H5771not their iniquityH4229, neither blot out[H8686] H2403their sinH6440from thy sightH3782, but let them be overthrown[H8716] H6440beforeH6213thee; deal[H8798] H6256thus with them in the timeH639of thine anger.
