² H5612Now as soon as this letterH935cometh[H8800] H113to you, seeing your master'sH1121sonsH7393are with you, and there are with you chariotsH5483and horsesH4013, a fencedH5892cityH5402also, and armour;

³ H7200Look even out[H8804] H2896the bestH3477and meetestH113of your master'sH1121sonsH7760, and set[H8804] H1him on his father'sH3678throneH3898, and fight[H8734] H113for your master'sH1004house.

⁴ H3966But they were exceedinglyH3966 H3372afraid[H8799] H559, and said[H8799] H8147, Behold, twoH4428kingsH5975stood[H8804] H6440not beforeH5975him: how then shall we stand[H8799] ?

⁵ H1004And he that was over the houseH5892, and he that was over the cityH2205, the eldersH539also, and the bringers up[H8802] H7971of the children, sent[H8799] H3058to JehuH559, saying[H8800] H5650, We are thy servantsH6213, and will do[H8799] H559all that thou shalt bid[H8799] H376us; we will not make anyH4427king[H8686] H6213: do[H8798] H2896thou that which is goodH5869in thine eyes.

⁶ H3789Then he wrote[H8799] H5612a letterH8145the second timeH559to them, saying[H8800] H8085, If ye be mine, and if ye will hearken[H8802] H6963unto my voiceH3947, take[H8798] H7218ye the headsH582of the menH113your master'sH1121sonsH935, and come[H8798] H3157to me to JezreelH4279by to morrowH6256this timeH4428. Now the king'sH1121sonsH7657, being seventyH376personsH1419, were with the great menH5892of the cityH1431, which brought them up[H8764] .

⁷ H5612And it came to pass, when the letterH935came[H8800] H3947to them, that they took[H8799] H4428the king'sH1121sonsH7819, and slew[H8799] H7657seventyH376personsH7760, and put[H8799] H7218their headsH1731in basketsH7971, and sent[H8799] H3157him them to Jezreel.

⁸ H935And there came[H8799] H4397a messengerH5046, and told[H8686] H559him, saying[H8800] H935, They have brought[H8689] H7218the headsH4428of the king'sH1121sonsH559. And he said[H8799] H7760, Lay[H8798] H8147ye them in twoH6652heapsH6607at the entering inH8179of the gateH1242until the morning.

⁹ H1242And it came to pass in the morningH3318, that he went out[H8799] H5975, and stood[H8799] H559, and said[H8799] H5971to all the peopleH6662, Ye be righteousH7194: behold, I conspired[H8804] H113against my masterH2026, and slew[H8799] H5221him: but who slew[H8689]  all these?

¹⁰ H3045Know[H8798] H645nowH5307that there shall fall[H8799] H776unto the earthH1697nothing of the wordH3068of the LORDH3068, which the LORDH1696spake[H8765] H1004concerning the houseH256of AhabH3068: for the LORDH6213hath done[H8804] H1696that which he spake[H8765] H3027byH5650his servantH452Elijah.

¹¹ H3058So JehuH5221slew[H8686] H7604all that remained[H8737] H1004of the houseH256of AhabH3157in JezreelH1419, and all his great menH3045, and his kinsfolks[H8794] H3548, and his priestsH7604, until he left[H8689] H8300him none remaining.

¹² H6965And he arose[H8799] H935and departed[H8799] H3212, and came[H8799] H8111to SamariaH7462. And as he was at the shearing[H8802] H1004house[H8677] H1044 H1870in the way,

¹³ H3058JehuH4672met[H8804] H251with the brethrenH274of AhaziahH4428kingH3063of JudahH559, and said[H8799] H559, Who are ye? And they answered[H8799] H251, We are the brethrenH274of AhaziahH3381; and we go down[H8799] H7965to saluteH1121the childrenH4428of the kingH1121and the childrenH1377of the queen.

¹⁴ H559And he said[H8799] H8610, Take[H8798] H2416them aliveH8610. And they took[H8799] H2416them aliveH7819, and slew[H8799] H953them at the pitH1044of the shearing houseH8147, even twoH705and fortyH376menH7604; neither left[H8689] H376he any of them.

¹⁵ H3212And when he was departed[H8799] H4672thence, he lighted[H8799] H3082on JehonadabH1121the sonH7394of RechabH7125coming to meet[H8800] H1288him: and he saluted[H8762] H559him, and said[H8799] H3426to him, IsH3824thine heartH3477rightH3824, as my heartH3824is with thy heartH3082? And JehonadabH559answered[H8799] H3426, It isH5414. If it be, give[H8798] H3027me thine handH5414. And he gave[H8799] H3027him his handH5927; and he took him up[H8686] H4818to him into the chariot.

¹⁶ H559And he said[H8799] H3212, Come[H8798] H7200with me, and see[H8798] H7068my zealH3068for the LORDH7392. So they made him ride[H8686] H7393in his chariot.

¹⁷ H935And when he came[H8799] H8111to SamariaH5221, he slew[H8686] H7604all that remained[H8737] H256unto AhabH8111in SamariaH8045, till he had destroyed[H8689] H1697him, according to the sayingH3068of the LORDH1696, which he spake[H8765] H452to Elijah.

¹⁸ H3058And JehuH6908gatheredH5971all the peopleH6908together[H8799] H559, and said[H8799] H256unto them, AhabH5647served[H8804] H1168BaalH4592a littleH3058; but JehuH5647shall serve[H8799] H7235him much[H8687] .

¹⁹ H7121Now therefore call[H8798] H5030unto me all the prophetsH1168of BaalH5647, all his servants[H8802] H3548, and all his priestsH376; let noneH6485be wanting[H8735] H1419: for I have a greatH2077sacrificeH1168to do to BaalH6485; whosoever shall be wanting[H8735] H2421, he shall not live[H8799] H3058. But JehuH6213did[H8804] H6122it in subtiltyH6, to the intent that he might destroy[H8687] H5647the worshippers[H8802] H1168of Baal.

²⁰ H3058And JehuH559said[H8799] H6942, Proclaim[H8761] H6116a solemn assemblyH1168for BaalH7121. And they proclaimed[H8799]  it .

²¹ H3058And JehuH7971sent[H8799] H3478through all IsraelH5647: and all the worshippers[H8802] H1168of BaalH935came[H8799] H376, so that there was not a manH7604left[H8738] H935that came[H8804] H935not. And they came[H8799] H1004into the houseH1168of BaalH1004; and the houseH1168of BaalH4390was full[H8735] H6310from one endH6310to another.

²² H559And he said[H8799] H4458unto him that was over the vestryH3318, Bring forth[H8685] H3830vestmentsH5647for all the worshippers[H8802] H1168of BaalH3318. And he brought them forth[H8686] H4403vestments.

²³ H3058And JehuH935went[H8799] H3082, and JehonadabH1121the sonH7394of RechabH1004, into the houseH1168of BaalH559, and said[H8799] H5647unto the worshippers[H8802] H1168of BaalH2664, Search[H8761] H7200, and look[H8798] H3426that there beH5650here with you none of the servantsH3068of the LORDH5647, but the worshippers[H8802] H1168of Baal only.

²⁴ H935And when they went in[H8799] H6213to offer[H8800] H2077sacrificesH5930and burnt offeringsH3058, JehuH7760appointed[H8804] H8084fourscoreH376menH2351withoutH559, and said[H8799] H376, If anyH582of the menH935whom I have brought[H8688] H3027into your handsH4422escape[H8735] H5315, he that letteth him go, his lifeH5315shall be for the life of him.

²⁵ H3615And it came to pass, as soon as he had made an end[H8763] H6213of offering[H8800] H5930the burnt offeringH3058, that JehuH559said[H8799] H7323to the guard[H8801] H7991and to the captainsH935, Go in[H8798] H5221, and slay[H8685] H376them; let noneH3318come forth[H8799] H5221. And they smote[H8686] H6310them with the edgeH2719of the swordH7323; and the guard[H8801] H7991and the captainsH7993cast them out[H8686] H3212, and went[H8799] H5892to the cityH1004of the houseH1168of Baal.

²⁶ H3318And they brought forth[H8686] H4676the imagesH1004out of the houseH1168of BaalH8313, and burned[H8799]  them.

²⁷ H5422And they brake down[H8799] H4676the imageH1168of BaalH5422, and brake down[H8799] H1004the houseH1168of BaalH7760, and made[H8799] H4163it a draught house[H8675] H4280 H3117unto this day.

²⁸ H3058Thus JehuH8045destroyed[H8686] H1168BaalH3478out of Israel.

²⁹ H2399Howbeit from the sinsH3379of JeroboamH1121the sonH5028of NebatH3478, who made IsraelH2398to sin[H8689] H3058, JehuH5493departed[H8804] H310not from afterH2091them, to wit, the goldenH5695calvesH1008that were in BethelH1835, and that were in Dan.

³⁰ H3068And the LORDH559said[H8799] H3058unto JehuH2895, Because thou hast done well[H8689] H6213in executing[H8800] H3477that which is rightH5869in mine eyesH6213, and hast done[H8804] H1004unto the houseH256of AhabH3824according to all that was in mine heartH1121, thy childrenH7243of the fourthH3427generation shall sit[H8799] H3678on the throneH3478of Israel.

³¹ H3058But JehuH8104took no heed[H8804] H3212to walk[H8800] H8451in the lawH3068of the LORDH430GodH3478of IsraelH3824with all his heartH5493: for he departed[H8804] H2403not from the sinsH3379of JeroboamH3478, which made IsraelH2398to sin[H8689] .

³² H3117In those daysH3068the LORDH2490began[H8689] H7096to cutH3478IsraelH7096short[H8763] H2371: and HazaelH5221smote[H8686] H1366them in all the coastsH3478of Israel;

³³ H3383From JordanH4217eastwardH8121 H776, all the landH1568of GileadH1425, the GaditesH7206, and the ReubenitesH4520, and the ManassitesH6177, from AroerH5158, which is by the riverH769ArnonH1568, even GileadH1316and Bashan.

³⁴ H3499Now the restH1697of the actsH3058of JehuH6213, and all that he did[H8804] H1369, and all his mightH3789, are they not written[H8803] H5612in the bookH1697of the chroniclesH3117 H4428of the kingsH3478of Israel?

³⁵ H3058And JehuH7901slept[H8799] H1with his fathersH6912: and they buried[H8799] H8111him in SamariaH3059. And JehoahazH1121his sonH4427reigned[H8799]  in his stead.

³⁶ H3117And the timeH3058that JehuH4427reigned[H8804] H3478over IsraelH8111in SamariaH6242was twentyH8083and eightH8141years.
