² H1121And he had a sonH8034, whose nameH7586was SaulH970, a choice young manH2896, and a goodlyH1121: and there was not among the childrenH3478of IsraelH2896a goodlierH376personH7926than he: from his shouldersH4605and upwardH1364he was higherH5971than any of the people.

³ H860And the assesH7027of KishH7586Saul'sH1fatherH6were lost[H8799] H7027. And KishH559said[H8799] H7586to SaulH1121his sonH3947, Take[H8798] H259now oneH5288of the servantsH6965with thee, and arise[H8798] H3212, go[H8798] H1245seek[H8761] H860the asses.

⁵ H935And when they were come[H8804] H776to the landH6689of ZuphH7586, SaulH559said[H8804] H5288to his servantH3212that was with him, Come[H8798] H7725, and let us return[H8799] H1; lest my fatherH2308leave[H8799] H860caring for the assesH1672, and take thought[H8804]  for us.

⁶ H559And he said[H8799] H5892unto him, Behold now, there is in this cityH376a manH430of GodH3513, and he is an honourable[H8737] H376manH1696; all that he saith[H8762] H935cometh[H8799] H935surely to pass[H8800] H3212: now let us go[H8799] H5046thither; peradventure he can shew[H8686] H1870us our wayH1980that we should go[H8804] .

¹⁰ H1697Then saidH7586SaulH5288to his servantH2896, WellH559said[H8799] H3212; come[H8798] H3212, let us go[H8799] H3212. So they went[H8799] H5892unto the cityH376where the manH430of God was .

¹² H6030And they answered[H8799] H559them, and said[H8799] H3426, He isH6440; behold, he is beforeH4116you: make haste[H8761] H935now, for he came[H8804] H3117to dayH5892to the cityH2077; for there is a sacrificeH5971of the peopleH3117to dayH1116in the high place:

¹³ H935As soon as ye be come[H8800] H5892into the cityH3651, ye shall straightwayH4672find[H8799] H5927him, before he go up[H8799] H1116to the high placeH398to eat[H8800] H5971: for the peopleH398will not eat[H8799] H935until he come[H8800] H1288, because he doth bless[H8762] H2077the sacrificeH310; and afterwardsH3651 H398they eat[H8799] H7121that be bidden[H8803] H5927. Now therefore get you up[H8798] H3117; for about this timeH4672ye shall find[H8799]  him.

¹⁴ H5927And they went up[H8799] H8432intoH5892the cityH935: and when they were come[H8802] H5892into the cityH8050, behold, SamuelH3318came out[H8802] H7125against[H8800] H5927them, for to go up[H8800] H1116to the high place.

¹⁵ H3068Now the LORDH1540had told[H8804] H8050SamuelH241in his earH259aH3117dayH6440beforeH7586SaulH935came[H8800] H559, saying[H8800] ,

¹⁶ H4279To morrowH6256about this timeH7971I will send[H8799] H376thee a manH776out of the landH1144of BenjaminH4886, and thou shalt anoint[H8804] H5057him to be captainH5971over my peopleH3478IsraelH3467, that he may save[H8689] H5971my peopleH3027out of the handH6430of the PhilistinesH7200: for I have looked[H8804] H5971upon my peopleH6818, because their cryH935is come[H8804]  unto me.

¹⁷ H8050And when SamuelH7200saw[H8804] H7586SaulH3068, the LORDH6030said[H8804] H376unto him, Behold the manH559whom I spake[H8804] H6113to thee of! this same shall reign[H8799] H5971over my people.

¹⁸ H7586Then SaulH5066drew near[H8799] H8050to SamuelH8432inH8179the gateH559, and said[H8799] H5046, Tell[H8685] H335me, I pray thee, whereH7200the seer's[H8802] H1004house is .

¹⁹ H8050And SamuelH6030answered[H8799] H7586SaulH559, and said[H8799] H7200, I am the seer[H8802] H5927: go up[H8798] H6440beforeH1116me unto the high placeH398; for ye shall eat[H8804] H3117with me to dayH1242, and to morrowH7971I will let thee go[H8765] H5046, and will tell[H8686] H3824thee all that is in thine heart.

²⁰ H860And as for thine assesH6that were lost[H8802] H7969threeH3117daysH3117agoH7760, set[H8799] H3820not thy mindH4672on them; for they are found[H8738] H2532. And on whom is all the desireH3478of IsraelH1? Is it not on thee, and on all thy father'sH1004house?

²¹ H7586And SaulH6030answered[H8799] H559and said[H8799] H1145, Am not I a BenjamiteH6996, of the smallestH7626of the tribesH3478of IsraelH4940? and my familyH6810the leastH4940of all the familiesH7626of the tribeH1144of BenjaminH1696? wherefore then speakest[H8765] H1697thou so to me?

²² H8050And SamuelH3947took[H8799] H7586SaulH5288and his servantH935, and brought[H8686] H3957them into the parlourH5414, and made them sit[H8799] H7218in the chiefestH4725placeH7121among them that were bidden[H8803] H7970, which were about thirtyH376persons.

²³ H8050And SamuelH559said[H8799] H2876unto the cookH5414, Bring[H8798] H4490the portionH5414which I gave[H8804] H559thee, of which I said[H8804] H7760unto thee, Set[H8798]  it by thee.

²⁴ H2876And the cookH7311took up[H8686] H7785the shoulderH7760, and that which was upon it, and set[H8799] H6440it beforeH7586SaulH559. And Samuel said[H8799] H7604, Behold that which is left[H8737] H7760! set[H8798] H6440it beforeH398thee, and eat[H8798] H4150: for unto this timeH8104hath it been kept[H8803] H559for thee since I said[H8800] H7121, I have invited[H8804] H5971the peopleH7586. So SaulH398did eat[H8799] H8050with SamuelH3117that day.

²⁵ H3381And when they were come down[H8799] H1116from the high placeH5892into the cityH1696, Samuel communed[H8762] H7586with SaulH1406upon the top of the house.

²⁶ H7925And they arose early[H8686] H5927: and it came to pass about the spring[H8800] H7837of the dayH8050, that SamuelH7121called[H8799] H7586SaulH1406to the top of the houseH559, saying[H8800] H6965, Up[H8798] H7971, that I may send thee away[H8762] H7586. ²⁷ H3381And as they were going down[H8802] H7097to the endH5892of the cityH8050, SamuelH559said[H8804] H7586to SaulH559, Bid[H8798] H5288the servantH5674pass on[H8799] H6440beforeH5674us, (and he passed on[H8798] H5975,) but stand[H8798] H3117thou still a whileH8085, that I may shew[H8686] H1697thee the wordH430of God.
