Psalm 105 - Easy To Read Version1 Thank the Lord.\par Worship his name.\par Tell the nations about the wonderful things he does.\par 2 Sing to the Lord.\par Sing praises to him.\par Tell about all the amazing things he does.\par 3 Be proud of the Lord’s holy name.\par You people came looking for the Lord.\par Be happy!\par 4 Go to the Lord for strength.\par Always go to him for help.\par 5 Remember the amazing things he does.\par Remember his miracles and wise decisions.\par 6 You are descendants {\cf2\super [546]} of his servant Abraham.\par You are descendants of Jacob,\par the man God chose.\par 7 The Lord is our God.\par The Lord rules the whole world. {\cf2\super [547]} \par 8 Remember God’s Agreement {\cf2\super [548]} forever.\par Remember his commands for 1,000 generations!\par 9 God made an Agreement with Abraham.\par God made a promise to Isaac.\par 10 Then he made it a law for Jacob.\par God made his Agreement with Israel.\par It will continue forever!\par 11 God said,\par “I will give you the land of Canaan.\par That land will belong to you.”\par 12 God made that promise\par when Abraham’s family was small.\par They were only strangers spending time there.\par 13 They traveled from nation to nation,\par from one kingdom to another.\par 14 But God did not let people mistreat them.\par God warned kings not to hurt them.\par 15 God said,\par “Don’t hurt my chosen people.\par Don’t do anything bad to my prophets. {\cf2\super [549]} ”\par 16 God caused a famine {\cf2\super [550]} in that country.\par People did not have enough food to eat.\par 17 But God sent a man named Joseph\par to go ahead of them.\par Joseph was sold like a slave.\par 18 They tied a rope around Joseph’s feet.\par They put an iron ring around his neck.\par 19 Joseph was a slave until the things he said\par really happened.\par The Lord’s message proved\par that Joseph was right.\par 20 So the king of Egypt set him free.\par That nation’s leader let him out of jail.\par 21 He put Joseph in charge of his house.\par Joseph took care of everything\par he owned.\par 22 Joseph gave instructions to the other leaders.\par Joseph taught the older men.\par 23 Then Israel came to Egypt.\par Jacob lived in Ham’s country. {\cf2\super [551]} \par 24 Jacob’s family became very large.\par They became more powerful\par than their enemies.\par 25 So the Egyptians began to hate\par Jacob’s family.\par They made plans against their slaves.\par 26 So God sent his servant, Moses,\par and Aaron, God’s chosen priest.\par 27 God used Moses and Aaron\par to do many miracles in Ham’s country.\par 28 God sent the very dark darkness,\par but the Egyptians did not listen to him.\par 29 So God changed the water into blood,\par and all their fish died.\par 30 Their country was filled with frogs.\par Frogs were even in the king’s bedroom.\par 31 God gave the command,\par and the flies and gnats came.\par They were everywhere!\par 32 God made the rain become hail.\par Lightning struck throughout their country.\par 33 God destroyed their vines and fig trees.\par God destroyed every tree in their country.\par 34 God gave the command,\par and the locusts and grasshoppers came.\par There were too many to count!\par 35 The locusts and grasshoppers\par ate all the plants in the country.\par They ate all the crops in the fields.\par 36 And then God killed every firstborn {\cf2\super [552]} \par in their country.\par God killed their oldest sons.\par 37 Then God took his people out of Egypt.\par They brought gold and silver with them.\par None of God’s people stumbled and fell.\par 38 Egypt was happy to see God’s people go,\par because they were afraid of God’s people.\par 39 God spread out his cloud like a blanket.\par God used his column of fire\par to give his people light at night.\par 40 The people asked for food,\par and God brought them quail.\par God gave them plenty of bread from heaven.\par 41 God split the rock,\par and water came bubbling out.\par A river began flowing in the desert!\par 42 God remembered his holy promise.\par God remembered the promise\par he had made to his servant Abraham.\par 43 God brought his people out from Egypt.\par The people came out rejoicing\par and singing their happy songs!\par 44 Then God gave his people the country\par where other people were living.\par God’s people got the things\par other people had worked for.\par 45 Why did God do this?\par So his people could obey his laws.\par So they could carefully obey his teachings.\par Praise the Lord!\par |
