Micah 4 - Easy To Read Version

¹ In the last days,\par the mountain of the Lord’s temple {\cf2\super [47]} will be on the highest of all mountains.\par It will be raised higher than the hills.\par There will be a steady stream of people\par going there.\par

² People from many nations will go there.\par They will say,\par “Come, let’s go up to the Lord’s mountain.\par Let’s go to the temple of the God of Jacob.\par Then God will teach us his way of living.\par And we will follow him.”\par

³ Then God will be a judge\par for the people of many nations.\par God will end the arguments\par for many {\cf2\super [49]} people in faraway countries.\par Those people will stop using their weapons\par for fighting.\par They will make plows from their swords.\par And they will use their spears\par as tools for cutting plants.\par People will stop fighting other people.\par People will never again train for war.\par

⁴ Each person will sit under his own grapevine and fig tree.\par No person will make \{them\} afraid!\par Why? Because the Lord All-Powerful\par said it would happen like that!\par

⁵ All the people \{from other nations\}\par follow their own gods.\par But we will follow the Lord our God\par forever and ever! {\cf2\super [50]} \par

⁶ The Lord says,\par “\{Jerusalem\} was hurt and crippled.\par \{Jerusalem\} was thrown away.\par \{Jerusalem\} was hurt and punished.\par But I will bring her back \{to me\}.\par

⁷ The people of that ‘crippled’ city\par will become the survivors. {\cf2\super [51]} \par The people of that city\par were forced to leave.\par But I will make them into a strong nation.”\par The Lord will be their king.\par He will rule from Mount Zion {\cf2\super [52]} forever.\par

⁸ And you, Tower of Flocks, {\cf2\super [53]} \par your time will come.\par Ophel, hill of Zion,\par you will again be the seat of government.\par Yes, the kingdom will be in Jerusalem\par like it was in the past.”\par

⁹ Now, why are you crying so loud?\par Is your king gone?\par Have you lost your leader?\par You are suffering like a woman\par that is giving birth.\par

¹⁰ Daughter of Zion, {\cf2\super [54]} feel the pain.\par Give birth to your “baby.”\par You must go out of this city (Jerusalem).\par You will live in the field.\par I mean, you will go to Babylon.\par But you will be saved from that place.\par The Lord will go there and rescue you.\par He will take you away from your enemies.\par

¹¹ Many nations have come\par to fight against you.\par They say,\par “Look, there is Zion! {\cf2\super [55]} \par Let’s attack her!”\par

¹² \{Those people have their plans.\}\par But they don’t know what the Lord\par is planning.\par The Lord brought those people here\par \{for a special purpose\}.\par Those people will be \{crushed\}\par like grain on a threshing floor. {\cf2\super [56]} \par

¹³ “Daughter of Zion, {\cf2\super [57]} \par get up and crush those people!\par \{I will make you very strong.\}\par It will be like you have horns of iron,\par and hooves {\cf2\super [58]} of bronze.\par You will beat many people into small pieces.\par You will give their wealth to the Lord.\par You will give their treasure\par
