Hosea 14 - Easy To Read Version

¹ Israel, you fell and sinned against God. So come back to the Lord your God.

² Think about the things you will say. And come back to the Lord. Say to him,

³ “Assyria will not save us.\par We will not ride on \{war\} horses.\par We will never again say, ‘Our God’\par to something we made with our hands.\par Why? Because you are the One who\par shows mercy to orphans. {\cf2\super [148]} ”\par

⁴ The Lord says,\par “I will forgive them for leaving me.\par I will love them freely,\par because I have stopped being angry.\par

⁵ I will be like the dew to Israel.\par Israel will blossom like the lily. {\cf2\super [149]} \par He will grow like the cedar trees of Lebanon.\par

⁶ His branches will grow,\par and he will be like a beautiful olive tree.\par He will be like the sweet smell\par from the cedar trees of Lebanon.\par

⁷ The people of Israel will again\par live under my protection.\par They will grow like grain.\par They will bloom like a vine.\par They will be like the wine of Lebanon.”\par

⁸ “Ephraim, {\cf2\super [150]} I will have nothing more\par to do with idols. {\cf2\super [151]} \par I am the One who answers your prayers.\par I am the One who watches over you. {\cf2\super [152]} \par I am like a fir tree that is always green.\par Your fruit comes from me.”\par

⁹ A wise person understands these things.\par A smart person should learn these things.\par The Lord’s ways are right.\par Good people will live by them.\par Sinners will die by them. {\cf2\super [153]} \par
