Yes, they despised the pleasant land. They didn’t believe ʜɪꜱ word,


because they didn’t believe in God, and didn’t trust in ʜɪꜱ salvation.


For all this they still sinned, and didn’t believe in ʜɪꜱ wondrous works.


Y’all must not harden your* hearts, as at Meribah, as in the day of Massah in the wilderness,


Moses and Aaron went in to Pharaoh, and said to him, “This is what YHWH, the God of the Hebrews, says: ‘How long will you refuse to humble yourself before me? Let my people go, that they may serve me.


YHWH said to Moses, “How long will y’all refuse to keep my commandments and my instructions?


You are to pay attention to him and listen to his voice. Don’t provoke him, for he will not pardon y’all’s rebellion, for my name is in him.


YHWH said to Moses, “I have seen these people, they are a stiff-necked people.


“How long will y’all who are naive love naiveté? How long will mockers delight themselves in mockery, and fools hate knowledge?


This evil people, who refuse to hear my words, who walk in the stubbornness of their heart, and have gone after other gods to serve them and to worship them, will even be as this undergarment, which is profitable for nothing.


Jerusalem, wash your heart from wickedness, that you may be saved. How long will your evil thoughts lodge within you?


“‘“But the house of Israel rebelled against me in the wilderness. They didn’t walk in my statutes and they rejected my ordinances, by which if a person keeps, they will live in them. They greatly profaned my Sabbaths. Then I said I would pour out my wrath on them in the wilderness, to consume them.


Let Samaria throw out his calf idol! My anger burns against them! How long will it be until they are capable of purity?


For YHWH Almighty says: “Just as I had planned to do evil to y’all when y’all’s ancestors provoked me to wrath,” says YHWH Almighty, “and I did not relent,


none of them will see the land that I swore to their fathers, nor will any of those who despised me see it.


“How long must I bear with this evil congregation that complains against me? I have heard the complaints of the children of Israel, which they complain against me.


YHWH’s anger burned in that day, and he swore, saying,


Jesus answered, “Faithless and perverse generation! How long will I stay with y’all? How long will I put up with y’all? Bring him here to me.”


He answered him, “Unbelieving generation, how long must I stay with y’all? How long should I endure y’all? Y’all bring him to me.”


But if I do them, even though y’all don’t believe me, believe the works. Then y’all will know and believe that the Father is in me, and I in the Father.”


Although Jesus had done many signs in front of them, they still didn’t believe in him.


If I hadn’t done among them the works which no one else did, they wouldn’t have sin. But now they have seen and hated both me and my Father.


But for all this, y’all did not trust YHWH y’all’s God,


For who was it that heard and rebelled? Wasn’t it all those who came out of Egypt led by Moses?


To whom did God swear that they would never enter into his rest, except those who were disobedient?


y’all must not harden your* hearts as in the rebellion, in the day of the trial in the wilderness,
