Isn’t this the carpenter’s son? Isn’t his mother called Mary, and his brothers James, Joses, Simon, and Judas?


As Jesus passed by from there, he saw a man called Matthew sitting at the tax collection office. He said to him, “Follow me.” Then Matthew got up and followed him.


As he passed by, he saw Levi the son of Alphaeus sitting at the tax office. He said to him, “Follow me.” And he got up and followed him.


James the son of Zebedee, and John, the brother of James (he called them Boanerges, which means, “sons of thunder”),


and Judas Iscariot, who also betrayed him.


Isn’t this the carpenter, the son of Mary and brother of James, Joses, Judah, and Simon? Aren’t his sisters here with us?” So they were offended by him.


One of the two who heard John and followed him was Andrew, Simon Peter’s brother.


Therefore, Thomas (also known as Didymus) said to his fellow disciples, “Let’s also go, that we may die with him.”


Judas (not Iscariot) said to him, “Lord, what has happened that you are about to reveal yourself to us and not to the world?”


Simon Peter, Thomas called Didymus, Nathanael of Cana in Galilee, and the sons of Zebedee, and two of his other disciples were together.


When they arrived, they went to the room upstairs where they were staying. Peter, John, James, Andrew, Philip, Thomas, Bartholomew, Matthew, James the son of Alphaeus, Simon the Zealot, and Judas the son of James were there.


After they became silent, James responded, “Brothers, y’all must listen to me.


The next day Paul went in with us to James, and all the elders were present.


Then he appeared to James, then to all the apostles,


Don’t we have the right to take a believing wife, as do the other apostles, the Lord’s brothers, and Cephas?


But I didn’t see any of the other apostles except James, the Lord’s brother.
