These are the names of the twelve apostles: First, Simon (called Peter) and his brother Andrew, James the son of Zebedee and his brother John,


They did this, sending their aid to the elders by the hands of Barnabas and Saul.


But he motioned with his hand for them to be silent, and then narrated for them how the Lord had brought him out of prison. He said, “Y’all must report this to James and the siblings.” Then he left and went to another place.


After they became silent, James responded, “Brothers, y’all must listen to me.


This became a major argument and debate between them and Paul and Barnabas. So Paul, Barnabas, and some others of them were appointed to go up to Jerusalem to the apostles and elders about this question.


They wrote these things by their hand: “The apostles, the elders, and the brothers, To those in Antioch, Syria, and Cilicia, who are siblings among the ethnic groups: Greetings.


The apostles and the elders gathered together to look into this matter.


From Miletus, Paul sent to Ephesus and summoned the elders of the church.


As you can verify yourself, fewer than twelve days ago I went up to worship in Jerusalem.


But I didn’t see any of the other apostles except James, the Lord’s brother.


When they perceived the grace that was given to me, James and Cephas and John, those who were reputed to be pillars, gave to Barnabas and me the right hand of fellowship, that we should go to the ethnic groups, and they to the circumcised.


James, a servant of God and of the Lord Jesus Christ, to the twelve tribes dispersed abroad: Greetings.
