When YHWH was about to take Elijah up by a whirlwind into heaven, Elijah went with Elisha from Gilgal.


“y’all must go to Bethel and rebel; In Gilgal, y’all are to rebel more. Bring y’all’s sacrifices every morning, y’all’s tithes every three days,


but y’all must not seek Bethel, nor enter into Gilgal, and y’all must not cross over to Beersheba; for Gilgal will be taken captive-captive, and Bethel will come to nothing.


My people, remember now what Balak king of Moab devised, and what Balaam the son of Beor answered him from Shittim to Gilgal, that you may know the righteous acts of YHWH.”


In the fortieth year, in the eleventh month, on the first day of the month, Moses spoke to the children of Israel according to all that YHWH had given him in commandment to them,


Aren’t they beyond the Jordan, behind the way of the going down of the sun, in the land of the Canaanites who dwell in the Arabah near Gilgal, beside the oaks of Moreh?


Joshua returned, and all Israel with him, to the camp to Gilgal.


The men of Gibeon sent to Joshua at the camp at Gilgal, saying, “Don’t abandon your servants! Come up to us quickly and save us! Help us; for all the kings of the Amorites that dwell in the hill country have gathered together against us.”


The border went up to Debir from the valley of Achor, and so northward, looking toward Gilgal, that faces the ascent of Adummim, which is on the south side of the river. The border passed along to the waters of En Shemesh, and ended at En Rogel.


“‘Y’all went over the Jordan and came to Jericho. The men of Jericho as well as the Amorite, the Perizzite, the Canaanite, the Hittite, the Girgashite, the Hivite, and the Jebusite fought against y’all, But I delivered them into y’all’s hand.


When the priests who carried the ark of YHWH’s covenant came up out of the middle of the Jordan, and the soles of the their feet had been pulled out onto the dry ground, the waters of the Jordan returned to their place, and went over all its banks as before.


The children of Israel encamped in Gilgal. They kept the Passover on the fourteenth day of the month at evening in the plains of Jericho.


YHWH said to Joshua, “Today I have rolled away the reproach of Egypt from y’all.” Therefore the name of that place was called Gilgal to this day.


They went to Joshua at the camp at Gilgal, and said to him and to the men of Israel, “We have come from a far country. Now y’all make a covenant with us.”


“Go down ahead of me to Gilgal. I will come down to you to offer burnt offerings and to sacrifice sacrifices of peace offerings. Wait seven days, until I come to you and show you what you are to do.”


Samuel said, “As your sword has made women childless, so your mother will be childless among women!” Then Samuel cut Agag in pieces before YHWH in Gilgal.
