So the king returned, and came to the Jordan. Judah came to Gilgal, to go to meet the king, to bring the king over the Jordan.


also from Beth Gilgal and out of the fields of Geba and Azmaveth, for the singers had built themselves villages around Jerusalem.


Take away my disgrace that I dread, for your ordinances are good.


“Look, the days come,” says YHWH, “that I will punish all those who are circumcised only in their flesh:


They played the prostitute in Egypt. They played the prostitute in their youth. Their breasts were fondled there, and their youthful nipples were caressed there.


She hasn’t left her prostitution since leaving Egypt; for in her youth they lay with her. They caressed her youthful nipples and they poured out their prostitution on her.


“Although you, Israel, play the prostitute, do not let Judah become guilty. And both of y’all must not go to Gilgal, nor up to Beth Aven, And y’all must not swear, ‘As YHWH lives.’


“You are to bring the one who cursed out of the camp and let all who heard him lay their hands on his head. Then have all the assembly stone him.


but y’all must not seek Bethel, nor enter into Gilgal, and y’all must not cross over to Beersheba; for Gilgal will be taken captive-captive, and Bethel will come to nothing.

I have heard the reproach of Moab and the insults of the children of Ammon, with which they have reproached my people and magnified themselves against their border.


“Therefore y’all are to fear YHWH and worship ʜɪᴍ in sincerity and in truth. Y’all must turn from the gods your* ancestors worshiped beyond the River in Egypt and worship YHWH.


The people came up out of the Jordan on the tenth day of the first month, and encamped in Gilgal, on the east border of Jericho.


When they were done circumcising the whole nation, they stayed in their places in the camp until they were healed.


Jonathan said to the young man who bore his armor, “Come! Let’s go over to the garrison of these uncircumcised. It may be that YHWH will work for us, for there is no restraint on YHWH to save by many or by few.”

He went from year to year in a circuit to Bethel, Gilgal, and Mizpah; and he judged Israel in all those places.
